  • xbox really would have been waaaay better off having the hd dvd drive in the xbox they might have won the format war and they wouldn't have the space issues they have now

  • "why didnt the xbox 360 come with our player installed?!!" i love this line :)

  • Copyright restrictions of BD sucks like hell. No free software (e.g. VLC) can play this crap.

  • @Lichtemitter Not even Windows Media Player?

  • both Hd-dvd and bluray rock.. ther is alot of HD-dvd movies that are all for 2 bucks on ebay.. you can get a bundle like 50 movies for 25 bucks.. thats what i did.. it looks just as good as bluray.. and all the newer movies i get on bluray.. its great having a player for both... i use a playstation 3 for bluray and xbox with addon hd-dvd player

  • anyone who dislikes blu-ray clearly has never seen it first hand and its not too expensive it cost me $600 for a player and 32" tv and sound system for my living room hardly a dent if u save up little by little

  • Digital distribution is cool, however it is still too expensive. Who wants to pay 5 to 6 bucks to rent an hd movie for 1 day. The movie studios demonize redbox for quote "grossly undervaluing our product" give me a break 5 dollars for 24 hours is grossly overvaluing your product. If the movie studios made sd movies cost 1 dollar a rental and hd movies cost 2 dollars a rental sales would skyrocket and digital distribution would really take off. But they are far to greedy for common sense.

  • @SUBZERO1231231231 hahahaha,cuz u are jalous hahahaha.

  • Never brought a blu ray in my life and never will.

  • @ellbo2 uhh if you want to continue watching movies you will. DVDs are gonna slowly disappear just like VHS, and blu ray will become the common use of video media

  • @TroxMacgee They said the same thing for colourisation of classics. People rejected it and when classics are sold they are sold in the orignal format. Black and white. How it should. Also a new 3D film came out. Failed at the Box Office, could this be because of 3D going out of fashion? The film is called Mars need Moms (or mums...) Many of the same films were released in 2D and 3D. Occasionaly 2D faired better. 3d may go out of fashion. I hope it will. I don't watch 3D films.

  • @ellbo2 ok first off the colorization of classics is way different. thats like what george lucas is doing to star wars in the special editions. It's ruining what we originaly saw. That's why no one likes it. Just watch it's gonna be just like VHS, DVDs are gonna slowly go away. The reason it's taking so long is the fact that buying an hdtv, a bluray player, some good speakers, and some blu ray movies, is because it is still is relativly expensive. once those prices go down you'll see

  • You do indeed have a point about the death of VHS but the difference in practicality between VHS and DVD is far greater then that of DVD and Blu Ray. You get a better picture and a couple extra features for a Blu Ray (if there are more I still dont wanna spend more money. I never watch a DVD and go 'Oh! What a crap picture. I want a Blu Ray.' Comparing DVDS to VHS you had subtitles, different langauges, extra features, easier storgage and usage and you don't have to rewind the bloody thing.

  • @ellbo2 Sure that is true and that is one of the reasons it is taking longer to come into style. Also certian things like netflix ( dont get me wrong I love netflix) is also slowing blu rays down.

  • @TroxMacgee because you are blue-gayfan.

i have the both my ps3 and dvd speler ^^

  • @mucisan oh ok looks like your the retard of the argument. Go back to your special classes MUCISAN

  • @mucisan You do know that in that soon DVD's will no longer be sold, they will become outdated like VHS. Soon it will all be Blu-Rays but not right now since it is quiet expensive.

  • @conor12231 Yeah,I know because i use not dvd speler more. and my dads buy alot blue-ray cuz he like that mmovie graphics and full hd is. :)

  • @ellbo2 enjoy the DVDick

  • @MightyDawq DVDick. Very creative. What exactly is your point?

  • Why does everything have to have a daft name now? Why couldn't it stay DVD and just be better???? Blu ray sounds stupid. It doesn't roll off the tongue and is yet another insult to the English language i.e. Blu (no, BLUE). Ray??? Stingray?? I'm sticking with my DVDS. Actually you know what, fuck you all, I'm sticking with them and my videos and my VCR, my vinyl player, because everything today is faggotty and sucks.

  • @80sSlashers

No but I can tell you are with that retarded comment.

  • @NielsShoe Hey, that's not nice. He never called you a retard, he asked if you were "retarted". That's an important difference you need to understand right away.

  • I dont like blu ray. Because I am a horror fan the blu ray ruins picture quilty. The bad picture quilty adds to the film. Also with some DVD's. VHS for the win.

  • @80sSlashers

if you dont like the picture quality play it in SD 480, 360, 280 resolutions

  • VHS is crap the picture looks as if its coming off tape.

If you think Blu rays picture is bad you need to buy a new TV or stop watching compressed video that claims to be Blu Ray.

  • @NielsShoe

    Are you retarted?

  • After I compared picture examples, I prefered Blu-Ray as the picture was more HD than HD-DVD. So I wasn't surprised that Blu-Ray won, but if Xbox just included the damn drive on the console anyway without needing to purchase it separately then maybe the format war would still be going on. But I love blu-ray now.

  • I always new Blu Ray would win...and mainly thanks to porn...as much as we hate admit it.

  • lol u kinda funny

  • Blu ray/HD is crap. Makes movies look like they were filmed on a camcorder. Removes the magic and exposes studio sets. Absolute crap. Emperors new clothes. Give me VHS any day.

  • @MrGobbledegook lolwat -_-

  • The thing I can’t stand about blurayb is that it only supports dtshdma or the studios or who ever what the fuck!? Thanks a lot Dolby labs for not supporting a sound format that I’ve listened to for getting soon on to 40 years. Thanks a lot I just can’t not be bothered about buying new bluray titles anymore because its all fucking dtshdma not DOLBY TrueHD or at least lets have both to choice, rather than one sound format.

This attitude form the studios isn't going to get me to buy any new title

  • If HD DVD had won Microsoft probably would have introduced a model of the 360 with a built in HD DVD player

  • @jordanthewizard i thought it was always built in. i remember my friend watching them on his XBOX

  • @stewpidvideos, he must of had the addon.

  • @stewpidvideos he must have an HD DVD drive

  • @stewpidvideos

No. Microsoft built a HD DVD player that plugs into your Xbox360 console. It could never play HD DVD's with out the HD player itself. It can play regular DVD's, with out the HD player. I always prefered (Blu-Ray) right from the start.

  • @invension ...que?

  • The blades of glory thing kills me.

  • Maybe its personal preference but i think optimg to own a physical copy may be age related? im 19 never owned very many cds but ive had like a jillion albums on my ipod and i prefer it this way

  • Very clever!!!!

  • Blu-ray player for a PC only costs £40 and it comes with Blu-Ray software so the upgrade is easy. Soon as games require 3 DVDS they will make the switch.

  • PC gamers are still using DVD's and PC gaming was quick to switch from CD to DVD..

There is no need for it tbh since you install games on your hard drive. All bluray means is less discs.. but then people will have to go out and buy a bluray player for their pc.

  • Apart from the misspelling of Blu-ray (Lowercase R, not uppercase), good parody! :)

  • There were a ton of videos on Youtube when the HD war was going on, saying that there was no way HD DVD would lose and that Blu Ray was doomed, but when Blu Ray won, people took down all those vids.

  • @jordanthewizard I didn't casually bet on Blu-Ray. I knew it was going to win from the start just because Blu-Ray had more stuidios backing the format. You didn't need to be a fanboy of either of the formats to know the medium with the most support would win. The ones that backed HD-DVD didn't understand that, or WANTED to understand it.

  • My dad says blu-ray is "blu-gay" but i am adopting blu this Christmas whether he likes it or not!!!!!

  • Blue-ray Disc™ > DVDick

  • Blu-Ray FTW

  • lmfao

  • 0;40, TOTALY LOL

  • hahaha hitler the king

  • if the xbox 360 had a built in HD DVD player it probably would have lasted longer than what it did

  • By the way, the Digital Bits and Bill Hunt captions cracked me up and only those that had been following the format war since the start would have gotten that joke! :D

  • Blue Ray has not won. It will be beaten by internet downloadable formats. Steve Jobs thinks so, and I agree. That's just my opinion. Physical media is pass away slowly but surely.

  • @blicksflicks You don't know how wrong you are. But again, that's just your opinion.

  • @AkatsukiCentral Afraid not. Digital downloads will be Blu-ray's downfall for sure. Renting movies from a store is dying out, too. People can always get their movies online or on demand from television.

  • @AkatsukiCentral Blu-ray won't enjoy the same decade-long dominance DVD did after it succeeded VHS. But that's not because there will be other challenger physical disc formats. Rather, instead of buying discs from Amazon, Best Buy or Wal-Mart, people will begin getting their entertainment in the form of digital downloads in larger volumes. The studios backing Blu-ray already know this.

  • @blicksflicks

Yes, and one of those studios is Sony. Who owns Columbia/Tristar and partial owner of MGM.

  • @blicksflicks

cont....people really don't get this. I remember back in the late 90s when I would hear about a "paperless office" and even 10 years later (today) we're still not completely paperless. The same goes with the whiners about digital downloads. Do you honestly think that Sony (a music and movie studio doesn't know this)? The bandwidth and infrastructure isn't ready for a pure DL model. And until that happens we'll still have physical media for a long time.

  • @gizmo2084 exactly...and still majority ppl prefer physical discs...like me, it gives you a sense of security if you know what i mean.

  • @blicksflicks That will never happen, never. If people are still reluctant to replace one physical medium (DVD) with another (Blu-Ray) then a digital format has little chance. I like having something tangible that i can hold in my hands. I like being able to walk over to my shelf a choose a movie to watch.

  • @blackbel4T You think it won't happen, but it most likely will. Just because you don't like digital downloaded movies doesn't mean much. Most people who watch movies today do not buy physical media. They either go to the theatre, and they buy their movies through the television and online. Once they've seen the movie, most people don't feel the need to own the physical movie. Digital downloads is the future of movies. I think Steve Jobs is right.

  • @blicksflicks We're not at the point where our internet infrastructure in many countries are developed enough to support streaming of h.264 1080p resolution videos. Each film would take around 15GB of storage, some more some less depending on bitrate and length. Considering many home internet connections in the west aren't faster than 6mbit,it will a while before high-density movie formats die out, if they do.

Even if each internet connection was fast enough, our infrastructure isn't right now

  • @amara01addis Do you reckon that one day ALL physical formats will be obsolete and everything will be digital download-only?

  • @SPeacock Don't think so, not completely anyway. At the end of the day some people will always want to own a physical copy of the media.

  • @amara01addis I suppose so. Never thought about that.

  • @amara01addis

Well its just too much to swallow at one time. I think digital distribution could EVENTUALLY take over, in fact I think it will, but not before blu ray has a long nice healthy lifespan

  • didn`t they delete all "downfall" parodies?

  • New Line Cinema is owned by Warner Brothers.

  • hahahaha

  • blue ray ftw

  • I stoped buying discs when this happend. Saved me alot of money, thank you Sony.

  • These are bloody funny :-)

  • Constantin Films is making a hugh mistake by taking down the videos. This video is free marketing and has become a cultural icon - thats what every marketing company trys to do, here they have it but they'd rather ruin it.

  • @iMike360

They must have VERY clever bosses over at Constantin. From now on forever associated with a bean counting, parch-dry, anti-humor approach on matters. "Losers", in youth-speak.

  • just to let you people know Constantin Film is pulling copyright law and all the hitler films are being removed by youtube 1 by one :(

  • hahahahahahahahahaa brilliant

  • It was kind of funny but the sub topics went to fast

  • loved the video. I also love hd dvd. anyways no big I have both players.

  • what movie is the real clip from

  • @rcs40x

The movie is called "Downfall" watch it its GREAT

  • @rcs40x downfall or inglorious basterds, same thing....

  • blu-ray has increased sales this year again and LOTR is now on blu-ray.Good times :)

  • I blame Fegelein.

  • HES pisst

  • how do you edit these videos, how can i add my own writing? cheers

  • these things are halarious

  • BLADES OF GLORY!? Are you FUCKING kidding me!? HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • I say that every time someone brings up that movie- they usually don't get it.

  • If you understand german this video is not really exciting...

  • downfall

  • LOL what movie is this from!?

  • Hitler could have a point about the 360.

When I had my PS2, it doubled up as my DVD player as well and lots of my friends done the same.

Given the number of 360's sold, if Microsoft had made them already capable of playing HD-DVD's without having to pay for extra accessories, HD-DVD might still be around today.

  • @andy29081983 I agree it may have just won the battle since the 360 had a year headstart on the other consoles its most likely would of had more studio support from that as well.

    but we'll never know.

  • @andy29081983

yeah, but that would have made the 360 a lot more expensive too, you see that's what those who claimed the PS3 was expensive conveniently forgot about. Heck when the PS3 was released it was the cheapest Bluray player on the market.

Ignorance is death. For those who have seen a full HD 1080p bluray movie on a 46 inch screen, there is no going back to dvd, this much I tell you

  • @McLarenMercedes lol its funny people think blue ray looks nice in 1080p have you ever thought that a computer can go up to 1500p and above

  • @McLarenMercedes so agree with that

  • Blu Ray will be short lived like the 8track and Beta Tapes.

  • I was expecting this to be another beetamax vs vhs but it only went on 2 years XD and I wasnt all that scared of what I bought

  • ps3 all the way, blu ray all the way

  • yea

    ps3- tha superior console

  • But has few games, I have a 360 and gaylo or Halo sucks ass. 360 sucks cause you have to pay for internet, well Microsoft sucks. Next gen I am going to build a PC and move to PC gaming, I am done with the console generation.

  • not if your as dumb as you type.

  • Thats probably how the makers of hd dvd felt when they first heard that the studios backed out

  • most likely

  • Someone had to made a 'hilter goes mad' in the form of blu ray winning, i love this.

  • i see an anti-nazi!!!!!!!!!.........

now isnt that practicly the same as being anti-muslim or anti-jihadist?

    or anti-jew (nazi) ??

i see that you have put subtitles on the words "das deutsche folke" that translates it into "bullshit" ..

now that is a hidden message i like to break down. :)

    you little jew... :)

  • this is hilarious! does anyone know which movie is being used though? it seems to have pretty good acting.

  • @hibiscus7866 - The movie is "Downfall"

  • NOBODY cares about your petty little argument. stfu and good day to you :)

  • Can't believe this was two whole years ago. o_0

  • I'm slightly irratated at myself for having compulsions to continue but anyway. Blu-ray does have more space look at specs and if you dont believe me then why are blu-ray dual layered and HD/DVD aren't it is newer and better tech thats why it beat it and blu-ray discs because of this dual layer can hold up to something like 40gb of space where as a hd/dvd can only hold like 8gb tell you what look at when FFXIII comes out and when there is 4 discs on 360 and 1 on PS3 ask yourself why.

  • hd dvd<blu-ray xbox 360<ps3

  • selearemus, I believe its obvious. But good to know that.

  • Look you know what I'm going to be the bigger person here and stop this argument. Obviously neither of us are going to listen to the other side of the argument so this is a COMPLETE waste of time and one final point capturing a picture is precisely what eye toy attempted and... look where that got them.

  • @floominoo haha.. your always rite!

  • @THEPROLUIGI No they are making Project Natal because of MONEY... the only reason any company does anything is because of MONEY and a small thing about the Wii was... it made a LOT OF MONEY also specs is short for specifications and if you didn't know that then you should really quit this argument right here right now.

  • @THEPROLUIGI When did i say Sony wasn't trying to mimic the Wii... and ofc Microsoft is trying to mimic the Wii because Microsoft want to make money they are making a motion sensor BECAUSE of the Wii's popularity, just because the specs are different doesnt change that fact. Oh and btw 'Sony's attempt' to mimic the wii i think you are referring to is the Sixaxis and this is to you and anyone that reads this... it sucks and avoid it at all costs.

  • You know what i have nothing to say since you obviously have... no idea what you are talking about. Oh btw i don't expect you to buy a blu-ray player since i only have one in the form of a PS3 and also project natal will... fail horribly since its attempting to copy the wii on a hardcore player console which is silly.

  • hd dvd was from toshiba ?

  • My dad was one who bought an HD-DVD player, but it was only a week before it was announced BLU-Ray had won.

  • am gonna sound like an idiot. Does anyone know what movie this is from?

  • From a movie called 'Downfall'.

  • Oh yeah you are right it couldn't be anything to do with blu-ray being better quality... or blu-ray being almost the same price now... or even the fact that blu-ray disks can hold around 5times that of a HD/DVD no its all because of Xbox

  • do toshiba now made a blu-ray dvd player

  • 35 seconds in was just hilarious!

  • And those dumbfucks at Cnet thought Blu-ray would lose.

  • LFMAO @ 1:40

  • Sucks if you own an xbox :)

  • Blu-Ray ROCKS!!

  • sorry but it just looks like your trying to show off about you knowledge of blue ray and makes it less funny...

  • @jokeistman actually you don't need any knowledge of blu-ray at all, it's the title at the top of the video, you just need basic reading skillls.

  • that was awesome!

  • fucking microsoft and their fucking hd dvd lol xbox you are next bitch!

  • hd-dvd has nothing to do with xbox thats y u hav to buy an attachment for it and xbox has the red ring of death and still gets more sales than ps3

  • What film is this? thanks

  • @craigofadown

Der Untergang. Very good movie, instead.

  • @nassu17

    id like to see it

is their an english version ?

  • W...T...F...?!

    So stupid!

    LOL!

  • i heard that the friday the 13th from crystal lake from manhattan box set is coming to blu ray sometime.

  • I heard the Lord of the rings trilogy blu-ray are coming out in either january or febuary.

  • @jordanthewizard

I heard it may be out before the end of Spring, but I'll until the extended versions are available because I own the first three theatrical versions in fullscreen (bad choices) and haven't seen the extended extra 20 minutes of walking versions.

  • OMG what up with people making fun of this movie.

  • @TheMickeybomb, they aren't making fun of this movie, they're just using this movie to make fun of Hitler.

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • blue-ray isnt better visually. not really. It's better sound quality that's all. hdmi, blue-ray,Del tv and 7.1 surround sound is paradise.

  • Blue-ray is HD HD......

  • Yeah I agree. Blu ray is good if you have the right player and sound system. The PS3 blu ray sucks compared to the Pioneer Elite blu ray player.

  • "Sucks?"

A little extreme, don't you think? So the Pioneer does some little thing that the PS3 doesn't, and the PS3 "sucks" by comparison? It's regarded as one of the BEST players. The only significant limitation (not working with Infrared universal remotes) can be worked around if you desire. The Pioneer Elite is priced to make you *think* that all other players must "suck."

  • Of all the Hitler parodies this is one of the best, LOL.

  • what movie is this?

  • @raywand the movie is downfall

  • @J0hnny135: and why would you think we didn't know that ..? ^^

But Ahahaha: "Blades of glory is still one of our exclusives"

and then he freaks out :D omg that's so funny "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME". Bahahaha :P

  • @HumanProphet

well i just think this video is useless...

    and boring

  • i am german, and this video has nothing to do with this subtitles

  • No, I'm shocked! Shocked I say!!!!!!

  • Support hybrid players!

  • who fucking cares

oh i know all you poor people who cant afford both

    losers

  • ur calling people who cant afford blu ray losers? why do you mock poor people for the actions of george bush

  • twat

  • screw you! ASS HOLE!

  • lol... BLU RAY AINT WINNIN 4 A LONG TIME!!! especially with the economy.... blu ray players are expencive dvd players are dirt cheap

  • ... Most people that watch blu ray already have a player. And now PS3 is dirt cheap. The war is between HD-DVD and BluRay and it is already over. DVDs are dying.

  • I disagree. Blu-Ray may be better visually, but they're like 30 bucks a pop, with almost no added bonus features from DVDs.

  • @AGentertainment good quality but when you watch animations they seem worse because you can see the detail too much lol

  • i ams ure they have already won

i haven't seen a single HD-DVD ever but Blu Ray PLayers on sale everywhere

  • Do you even know what the video is talking about? What on earth do dvd players have to do with this? The competition is between which high-definition format gains more market share, and bluray is now winning over hd-dvd.

  • Stays brilliant :-)

  • at 1:33 they shouldve said 'I was just about to masterbate!!' haha that wuld disrupt the plot but oh well lol

  • I have a PS3 but LBP is a sack of shit lol. A very fun sack of shit, great for partys but boring on your own. Uncharted 2 is my favourite game ever, Killzone 2 would probably number 2 selling FPS (second 2 MW2) if it was on 360, resistance 2 was alright and MGS4 is fucking amazing.

  • i dont believe that they actually had awar blu ray vs hd dvd wtf

  • dont comapare it by price.

  • ps3 has helped blu ray alot

  • I still love watching HD DVD has lost.

  • I still love watching HD DVD movies on my HD DVD player. :P

  • ahahaha just watched the funniest video about hitler ranting on that ps3 is better than xbox. funniest shit ever. if you want to check it out, search: ps3 is better than xbox, by madfreshkid69
