Buddhism is much....more than just learning to do good or practise morality, it is a 'Path" that can lead you utimately to discover who you really are, your true Self, to attain Buddhahood, your Divinity (same meaning) ! Once your see your true Self, you will realize that you are one with all of creation, nature and yes, even all living creatures. We have a choice in the 21st century, why not choose a diet that does not contribute to violence, we are what we eat ! We are not animals but Gods !

@tankh1736 Buddha was very clear in the discouse that ALL living creatures have the Buddha nature, all beings exist in one of the 6 realms of existence, all will EVENTUALLY become buddhas , therefore, we should try our best not to harm or eat the flesh of any future buddha ! I never use the word you quoted 'equality', equality means the inate nature (divinity) not shapes and forms. I think you should read more Buddhist text ESPECIALLY the Mahayana sutras, meat eating was explained in detail !

@chonghqh erm, you might wanna try chanting Sutra of The Past Vows of Earth Store Bodhisattva or commonly know as (in Chinese) Di Zhang Pu Sa Ben Yuan Jing and passing the merits to them. This will help them to be brought to the Western Pure Land. Hope this helps.

This's incantation, the meaning cannot be translated by any language (since it's too much to explain) in fact that's Guanyin (a Bodhisattva)'s priceless & forever mercy & willing . You just listen it again & again with heart, that's you can sing it without remembrance. Just use your heart to listen not your thinking.
