  • I heard this song being played live by wonderful musicians not long ago & wanted to share it. I posted it as a video response to your own version performed by wonderful musicians from long ago.

  • Callesol10, I just heard back from a dear friend regarding your question. His answer is in the next post.........

  • "La Paloma was recorded on a brown wax cylinder by the Edison Symphony Orchestra and released on No. 565, most likely some time in 1896 or 1897. Exact dates of recording are not available for these very early cylinders. The song was also recorded on Edison brown wax by tenor Arturo Adamini on No. 4213 some time during the second half of the '90s and by F. de la Rosa on brown wax No. 4209. I don't know whether the latter was a vocal or instrumental."

  • Kool recording and gramophone!

  • CrisVangel, (Sorry for the delay in responding.) Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed them. That little Victrola X has given many loyal hours of service since I bought it.

    Regards, J.

  • "Carlos Francisco" was one of the phonographic pseudonyms that Emilio de Gogorza used for Spanish songs. He used "M. Goddard" for French songs.

He used his own name only in Red Seal recordings.

  • AulicExclusiva, Yes, I keep meaning to add that to the descriptive. I did not know about the 'M. Goddard' pseudonym, I'll have to remember that. Thank you for watching, I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

    Regards, J.

  • Fantastic! So deep and resounding voice. I enjoy it as much as young Ruffo's singing (Deh vieni alla finestra). Real bel canto!

  • Delifine, Yes an amazing voice. It seems perfectly suited to the acoustic horn. Thank you for your kind words, I'm pleased you enjoyed the clips.

    Regards, J.

  • Gvbreemen, Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Regards, J.

  • When I feel the golden age of the 20 visiting the channel of Fuzzbear

  • Algs229635, Thank you very much. That is my aim; to bring a bit of the past back to life if for only a moment. Regards, J.
