Born as a skier, switched to snowboard. Great Fun. Buy let me say that the skiing technique is overall much more difficult, not say for the tricks. I would suggest to get some basics on groomed tracks before jumping to off-piste/powder/backcountry stuff...

@minimi638 are you fucking kidding me. snowboarding tricks arent half as creative as what can be done on skis. its biased people like you you who think skiing is made up of old trailblazers who cruise down groomed runs. its a revolution, twin tip skies are the biggest thing to happen to the sport and because you just found out there is more to it than you thought doesnt give you the right to bash skiers.

@biggsforwin amen to you... very true. many snowboarders are always bashing us skiers because they think that we're pussies! i have skied and snowboarded but i far prefer skiing, and i noticed that it is much harder to perform tricks on ski's their much harder to control (having 2 instead of 1) and they have a smaller surface area making them harder to land properly on.

@nintendowiirocks111 As a snowboarder for years, learning to ski is something I wanna do this season. The only thing I wanna say though is the freeride landing where you just sit back and let your tips pop up is way easier on skis. You can't quite sit back like that on a board.

@nintendowiirocks111 I'm all about the natural freeride hits. Like I spent Friday at A-Basin in Colorado looking for good cliffs through their backcountry access gates. The best I could find was a 6 foot drop with kindof a shallow landing. Or if you know what kind of terrain Vail has, theres a cornice with an 8-15 foot drop depending on where you hit it in the Blue Sky Basin, just search "Vail Blue Sky Cornice" and you can see what i'm talking about.

@julianf0918 just a tip, if you ever get into skiing and you like it and decide to buys a pair of ski's and boots here's what i would reccomend for you... (not trying to spam, just trying to make suggestions) for the ski's for freeride i would reccomend a pair of "Armada - Twin Tip" skis and a pair of Dalbello ski boots, their both excellent for freeride

@dumadave10 I do this type of skiing you dont want to use your knees you want to lean back alittle when you land and if you do half to bend your knees bend them acouple inches and Just try to stand up right away or you WILL Break your knees.. Best thing Ive done in a mountain is a 540 backflip. Now I just mostly do park skiing. I love Rails jumps Drop offs and half pipes.. Yes.. Ive gone skiing in the mountains.
