If Nizar Rayyan had not been killed he would have ordered more bomb attacks on innocent Israeli civilians.

If it was a war crime to kill Rayyan, then Obama is guilty of war crimes when he orders the bombing of the homes of Al-Qaeda leaders which often kill civilians too.

It was far simpler to locate him and kill him with an airstrike.

No it shows that the Iraqi soldiers were rational. Many refused to obey order, took off their uniforms and went home rather than fight and die for Saddam.

Making war with Israel will never change anything. Israel would be willing to bargain with Palestinians who prepared to use peaceful means which did not involve killing innocent civilians.
None of the horrible suffering of Palestinians under occupation would ever have happened if they had made peace and built up trust with the Israelis in the first place.
If there was peace tomorrow it would take many years for issues like water, land, settlements to be solved.

Fatah and Hamas still reject any solution whatever which would involve the continued existence of any Israeli State or any Jewish presence whatever in the region. Any peace treaty has always been broken when Palestinians rearmed and attacked Israel again or when Israel was forced to intervene to prevent Palestinian attacks to save the lives of civilians.
The continued irrational actions of Fatah and Hamas have kept this conflict going.

Nizar Rayyan was hiding in a Palestinian area which was guarded by hundreds of Palestinian fighters. If the Israelis tried to capture him it would have required thousands of troops to move into the area and heavy fighting that would have killed hundreds and hundreds of people and massive destruction.
It was far simpler to locate him and kill him with an airstrike.
The death toll was much lower.
It was a far more humane method than what you propose.

Israel is a fact of life.
It exists and it can only stop existing when the last Israeli is dead because make no mistake, the Israelis will fight to the last drop of their blood to live in Israel.
What do you propose?
Removing millions of people by force and killing tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands?
That is what would be required to destroy Israel.
Instead the Arabs and Israelis should make peace with eachother and accept the new reality.

The only reason Israel has turned Palestinian areas into open prisons is because the Palestinians have always refused to make peace with Israel and use every opportunity they can to attack Israel. The Palestinian leadership has failed to make peace with Israel and instead continues this stupid war.
The occupation and the brutal Israeli treatment of Palestinians - yes I did say brutal - would end tomorrow if Palestinians made peace, stopped the terrorism and agreed to talks.

The deal that Clinton brokered just before the second intifada in 2000 offered the Palestinians almost 100% of the West Bank and Gaza and Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian State.
Yasser Arafat rejected it because he was not interested - he was always interested in the destruction of Israel and when Sharon visited the Temple Mount, it gave him an excuse to launch a new wave of terrorism.

The only reason the checkpoint exist is because Palestinian armed groups continue to exist and continue to plan attacks against Israel.
There would be no Israeli military presence in Palestinian areas if armed groups disarmed and gave up terrorism.
That is what happened in Northern Ireland.
IRA and UVF terrorism required a British military presence on the streets of Belfast.
When terrorists stop killing people and disarmed, the British troops were sent home.
It's that simple.

When neighbourhoods are controlled by armed gangs force must be used to protect Israeli civilians from attack.
Many black neighbourhoods in American cities have been taken over by armed gangs and American police can only go into certain areas unless they are armed to the teeth.
The same can be said for many cities in South Africa, Mexico Brazil India, Pakistan, Russia and Europe.
It is often hard to tell who is a gangmember and innocents get killed in security operations against criminals.

Israeli soldiers did risk their lives to save civilians - they evacuated Palestinian civilians from the combat zone when they fought Hamas terrorists in the streets of Gaza and some lost their lives.

If the snipers bullet somehow richoet's off the guys head (which is extremly unlikely) and a child is killed by the stray bullet, thats unfortuante but at least the IDF tried legimately to prevent civilian casualties with a precise weapon intended to kill one person and one person only, the one in the cross hairs.
This is why BOMBS which are an area effect weapon, and cluster bombs which are area effect weapons, are weapons of COWARDICE

You idiot. Bullets can go through human bodies and ricochet off concrete walls (in cities concrete walls are usually everywhere and a lot of other objects for bullets to bounce off and kill unintented targets).
Since the second world war bombs are becoming more and more precise.
If a terrorist is in a particular building or even particular room the IDF can kill him with a precision bomb or rocket.
Not to kill him means Israeli deaths.
It is sad when innocents die but the IDF try to avoid it.

Israel has nukes because it has been attacked by huge Arab armies in 1967 and 1973. The sole reason that Israel has not been attacked by conventional army for almost 40 years is because it possesses a nuclear deterrant.
Israel is a democracy.
Saddam was a dictator.
Libya is a dictatorship. Iran is a dictatorship.
Israel must defend itself from them and it has nukes to deter a future war which would end in Israel's destruction.

The intention was not to kill innocent civilians. The intention was to burn the Hamas fighters to death.
Some civilians were killed because the rockets were being fire from Palestinian civilian areas using the local population as a human shield.
If you don't want innocent Palestinians to die then why don't you complain to Hamas about firing the rockets and provoking an IDF counterstrike?

Actually, the official Israeli explanation was:
We are not using White Phosphorous as a weapon, we are using it as a smoke screen"
So because the Geneva convention says White Phosphorous cannot be used as a weapon, the Israelis think they can say ok were using it as a smoke screen, and get away with it

The Geneva convention requires combatants to wear military uniforms and that innocent civilians must not be used as human shields or as the target of attacks.
Hamas break all these rules by wearing civilian clothes, using civilian areas as launch sites and deliberately attacking Israeli civilians with the rockets.
So try harder or use a better example.
If Israelis use WP to pan fry a few Hamas terrorists then too bad.
