dude this band is so great. they remind me of lifetime! the only thing that I wish they would do is sing a little more clearly. I know lifetime started out with more of an edgy singing style but they starting singing more melodically later on. Im not saying this band should be like lifetime, i just wish I could understand the lyrics better. I fucking love it though

These guys are like Kid Dynamite & Lifetime but you have to remember, and this is especially true to the East Coast, Kid Dynamite and Lifetime Influenced EVERYBODY! Kid Dynamite had a homerun influence up and down the coast, it's just shocking it took that long to get to the west coast! Shook Ones are one of the best bands out right now, hands down!

@charliewphoto There is nothing wrong with strong influences. They have a very strong Kid Dynamite, Lifetime, 7 Seconds and Descendents influenced sound but still make it their own. Personally I prefer Shook Ones to Kid Dynamite because of Scott's singing style but I still appreciate what Kid Dynamite have done for punk music.

The way I felt about Shooks when I first heard them was the same exact way i felt about listening to Saves the Day's "Can't Slow Down" after listening to Lifetime's "Hello Bastards"...to use a word that has been used in the can't slow down/hello bastards debate, plagiarized. But after deeper listening and their constant evolution, they really have become one of my favorite bands, over Kid Dynamite sometimes too.
