When this came out , relations between the West and the Soviet Union were at an all time low , and this was felt most poiniently in West Germany . So much so it was beginning to affect the culture of the country , were as they were the closest & therefore the first point of entry from Soviet forces to western europe , and this song reflects that fear. I remember going to work and bringing home my walkman , thinking if war breaks out at least I'll have music , but it would Germany first assailed.
I remember the moment I first heard this... in my dad's car. I went out in search of it the very next day and bought the 7"! It still sounds magnificent!
