Shotgun is cooooool! Wish they had shot the session for the Sylvia Aimerito jingle. She's an amazing talent and a pioneer in the field of women DJs. We've been listening to her since her Rock N Rhythm KNAC days and listen to her via internet on Saturdays. If anyone comes across her jingle vid, please post. THANK YOU!
I remember listening to Shotgun Tom in the early 70s (I was likejust a SMALL kid!) on LA radio (93 KHJ) - - This is some classic "behind the scenes" -ness!!!
@Dansolo069 All this artsy horsing around and it finally comes out of a 2-inch speaker or a tiny earphone in a radio for the teeny bopper listener. :) In fact, Bill Putnam used to hook up a small AM radio transmitter to the output of the master tape machine and broadcast it to a radio down the street where he and other engineers listened to it on a typical car radio, so they'd know if they overmixed it.
Then you've got radio station processing that brightens all station audio at around 3k.
Really a treat to see/hear this session! I did'nt know how many of the original Johnny Mann singers were still singing.
--- On the subject of jingles, I heard that many stations are outsourcing their jingles to studio vocalists in Thailand. They don;t need to know English, it's just phonetics to them and they are given a rough master tape so they can master imitating the American radio voice sounds. Even jingles for Mexican radio stations(US & Mexico) are doing jingle outsourcing...bummer.

Shotgun Tom never ever ever worked at KHJ. That was Machine Gun Kelly, totally different guy.
