I found D minor 7 to be more appropriate instead of D minor.

It's a bit hard to adapt the rhythm to it though.

I also think it's better to go up the chord, trough 2 and a half octaves. It's hard to do, and takes lot of space, but if you have the skill and an 8 octave piano, it's playable.
