the book has been translated into english - its a good read - but to be honest - the directors interpretation of the and modernisation makes it more acceptable of this story line. the original story line was meant for that time

in the real story lolita is 13, shekhar is 26 and girish a lil older than shekhar, kali(koel) is 11 . XDDD

the book is really good, i would say much better than the movie of course, but tahts if u can accept the fact that its a very old one, when the culture was kinda creepy

but sry i read it in bengali, i dunno whether its available in english :(
