@beeko99 well i doesnt have a top ten list of players, but my favorites are Zidane, Thierry Henry, Ronaldo (the real one), and Messi, I also like Dani Alves and Benzema. But im 17 so i didnt see players like Van Basten, Pele, Cryuff, Maradonna, Laudrup, etc

@beeko99 well i specially like Zizou because of his first touch, is the best first touch that i have never seen, his volleys and his control with both feet is unreal, and also because when he became older like in his 30's he also became slower and he used to pass the defenders like walking in a park lol, he played with such an elegance and so calm, and also he is sooo smart, and i also extremely love how he beat the best national selection in history two times in 98 and 06. Zizou is a LEGEND!

@mrromeo1000 they are no doubt 2 world class players but for them to be the best of all time they wud hv to go bak in time and start all over again to try and surpass maradona, maradona achieved the impossible. he deliberatly went to teams tat were getting nowhere and helped them to achieve things they never had or hv done since his absence. he done the impossible!

Sorry Zidane fans. But Ronaldo is in a category by himself. Zidane was a great player but Ronaldo is out of this world. Ronaldo does everyhting with amazing speed and quickness without loosing the control of the ball. Zidane needs time to display his talent. Ronaldo goes by the defenders and goalkeepers as if they were not there. At his prime no one would stop him.

There is just one zidane , Zidane is maybe less quick that ronaldo , but Zidane has a best technic , it's easy , Zidane has the best skills , and control of the ball ever , look his control , and the goals that only him can scores ( vs la corogne or france vs norway ) whereas lot ofs player got quickness like ronaldo , and more again. But it's very difficult to compare them because zidane says ronaldo is the best and ronaldo says zidane is the best. But for me , Zidane is the best.

@zhivago295 Zidane showed real art that no one can do. ronaldo had speed technique he dribbeld defenders like there was no one. but zidane did all that whit a simple touch and that's makes zidane the best of all time. zidane didn't need speed or technique it was just skill art magic and pure class. you can't compare no one with zidane. zidane pele maradona where the 3 best players of there on generation but zidane in my opnion the best of the three

@okocha87 I think you have overlooked players who have played the game. What about Zico, Cruyff, garrincha, Eusobai and other greart players. I personally think that Pele, maradona, Cruyff, zico and then the others.

@RIDDLER491 of course zico cruyff and you named the rest there where all great players. but What want to say that zidane had something different. his touch on the ball it was soo nice to see for the eye. it was something special. he saw the whole field before he got the ball so he had played the ball before he got it. and he almost never lose the ball and that is something special to

@Fatoflyy I have watched Zidane play since 1996 and he was most Brilliant at the Euro 2000. As I say players such as Garrincha and Cruyff were brillaint. Garrincha was almost important to the Brazillian team as Pele was and was at least equal to pele. Cruyff had tremendous skill and had an unusual understanding of the game. This was shown in the 1974 world cup when he was the best player at the world cup and he is considered the THE TOTAL FOOTBALLER.

@ThaTrottein Ronaldo in WC98 had a seizure the night before the WC final, but throughout the tournament he was one of the best players,
WC06 he was overweight and STILL managed to become the leading scorer of all time in the WC (plus he'd recently come back from another bad injury).
Ronaldo in WC 2002 was pure DESTRUCTION, just was incredible, scoring both goals in the WC final against Germany, dont' come much bigger games than that.

I guess that you still can't see the reason why Madrid performance was still not as good as expected with the amount of money the spent...
the reason they failed is because they have way too much offensive players to use, and look at that... no defence midfield except for Makelele. not to mention that there are only two places for strikers... where do the rest star players go? the bench... it really was a waste of their talent to stuff them all in a team.

well... zidane is usually considered the best midfielder of his time while ronaldo is considered the best forward of his time. Since they both played in the same time period I suppose you could reasonably compare them.
