  • I was there that night, and I remember at the end of the show, U2 brought up NYPD and FDNY audience members to the stage for the encore. What a great release it was to watch them all dancing to Out of Control. There were so many policemen and firefighters on stage that no one saw the band's curtain call, lol. That night was a healing moment for New Yorkers, and I'll never forget it.

  • @claud923 I was there too. I will never forget that either. what a show, and what a moment for us New Yorkers

  • i was there...gave me chills to see it again...amazing moment.

    thanks for posting! =]

  • I was front row at this show, too - - spent the night on the sidewalk outside MSG from the night before to get that spot. Worth every minute of it.

At right around 5:48 and on for a few seconds, as the camera quickly pans away from one of the firefighters on stage, you can see "me" waving around my American flag banner at the front.

Peruvian Salecom, do u have the video continuation of this moment into 'Out of Control?'

Bono took my banner on stage between the two songs . . .

  • God bless FDNY, NYPD and U2!

  • I never cried at a concert but this makes me tear up even now. 3/1/2009 GOB BLESS U2 & FDNY

    WE WILL NEVER FORGET

  • I was there and cried like a little baby........GREAT CONCERT Hi PATI AND NANDO.......A night I will never forget

  • I was there.....will never forget it.

  • I've looked everyone for video of this night thanks so much for posting it. I was there that night. 10 hours in the freezing NY cold to score front row center standing room. I was 5 feet from Bono and it was the best night ever. It's hard to see but I'm right below Bono wearing a khaki hat. Being there that night there was not a dry eye in the house when they played this. When the firemen and police came out on stage with pictures of ones they lost was really amazing.

  • Must have been an incredible night.

If anyone deserved a round of applause it was the FDNY and NYPD for their sacrifice.

    Respect from Ireland.
