I know the Temptations are in the background but you can really only hear Eddie. If you ever realised on Little Stevie Wonder's "Contract On Love", It's 100% Eddie Kendricks singing. They say it's some "doo-wop" group but my bet it's the tempts.

The melody sounds eerily similar to "On Broadway" by The Drifters. If this song was a hit, there probably would have been a lawsuit somewhere.
