I saw this cast twice in the same tour; Darryl Lovegrove's voice was almost completely the reason for it. Mesmirising. I actually had a rather ongoing crush on him after JCS!
I ain't gonna quibble -- thanks for posting this. As usual the rights to listen in the USA are bizarre -- some cuts, OK, some not OK. But the NZ JC singer (I apologize for not knowing his name), is there with Ian Gillian and this is as enjoyable as the USA album they won't let us play.
This isn't the 2-seat. It is great on its own merits and sits alongside the 1970 album. There are flourishes that create a new emotional response.
was "this jesus must die" not recorded for the soundtrack or did you just not post it or what? when i saw it there was a scene after "whats the buzz" where the priests came out and started singing a low, sketchy song "this jesus must die"
@okayhawaii This was done over 10 years ago in 1994.. And since it's from New Zealand I'm not surprised it's not better known. NZ is a pretty small country all things considered.
It's why I decided to post the soundtrack. I adore these versions of the songs and wanted to share them with people who woulda never had the chance to see or know about it.

Darryl Lovegrove was JC in the NZ cast. Sounded just as good when he was singing this live. Was a bit of a spunk too from what I remember.
