@jtschid0910 I think the point of detaching the bit -note he only did it once- was to show the safety feature that top plate adds. If the chuck should work loose and the bit falls it won't go through the newly drilled hole and sink to the bottom of the lake. It's a good feature and well demonstrated in this video. *The other holes he drills he keeps the bit attached to the drill.
hey would ANYONE PLEASE COMMENT MY FILE WHERE TO GET ONE OF THESE I REALLY WANT ONE SO REALLY, PLEASE IF U READ THIS COMMENT MY FILE WHERE I CAN GET ONE OF THESE AUGERS FOR MY HAND DRILL!!!!!!!!!!
hey you can get them at bass pro shop or on there website but i think the auger and adapter is seperate so u just buy a hand auger and then buy the adapter for it
how many volts is that drill you are using? i just bought a nimrod but am waiting for it to be shipped. ice is probably 14" thick here now. just wondering how many holes you think could be drilled with a brand new drill and fresh battery?
18 volt drill...how many holes depends on how big of auger i am using. smaller auger will drill more holes. i believe my buddy gets 15-20 holes on a new battery, 6" auger. just bring a spare battery with you and make sure you keep the batteries warm
thats what i use

What is the torque of your drill? Im planning to buy one but I'm not sure how much torque does it need to drive a 6" auger. Thanks in advance.

yea seriously these things don't work for shit on really solid ice.

yah they do if you have a good drill and your augerblades are sharp. a gas powered auger wont cut worth shit if blades are dull...
my buddy has one in northern michigan, middle of winter and cut 30 holes on one battery.
