I disagree. I can believe in myself, while still believing that I have no business regulating private businesses.
I don't think the dog wash is a good idea, but some people do. That's their opinion. In reality, the dog wash does no physical harm to the dog, and animals, in general, have VERY limited short-term memory. I would not use such a machine, but I wouldn't regulate the use by someone who finds it useful.
Actually, my wife is a groomer. I work in the 'investigative' field. Regardless, I simply don't think it's 'we the people's' place to place such 'taxes' as licensing on private enterprises. It comes down to "let the market decide" While many here are passionate about what 'abuse' this machine causes (and, mind you, I would NEVER use such a machine), keep in mind that to many, animals are simply property vs pets. That's their opinion, and I try to not argue with opinion.
I don't believe that government should be in the business of licensing anyone (it's just another unfair tax), but I agree that this is not a good way to wash a dog. It's unfortunate that someone want's to spend their money to do this to their pet. Just pouring water and soap on a dog doesn't get them clean. Post the name and address of the facility where this is, eh? Perhaps some well-placed phone calls would cause the business owner to thing about his methods. Better than any licensing.
@lc46219 licensing isn't about giving power to the government or the government collecting a tax, it's about setting a basic standard for people who are in a certain profession to go by, can you imagine being seen by an unlicensed doctor or flying with an unlicensed pilot or leaving your children in the hands of unlicensed day care provider? we are talking about setting a minimum level of education for these positions. unfortunatly not enough people ask about a groomer's education
@wackyweed57 Wow, 2 years later is kind of slow, but that's ok.
If it's NOT about the government collecting a tax, why wouldn't government simply give the licenses away once someone has met requirements set by their peers?
I CAN imagine being seen by an unlicensed doctor or flying with an unlicensed pilot. It used to have all the time. Licensing came about as a matter of government control. But, for goodness sakes, we're talking about DOG grooming, here. It's not rocket science.
@53531640 why not if it's so humane right? would we put our infants and elderly in there? good for the goose good for the gander? Lazy groomer!!! there is no possible way all types of dogs can get anywhere near properly clean in one of those. what's worse than a groomer using one? I saw one at our local car wash the other day, people can pull up, put the pet in while they grab a coffee or wash the car. this is bad in so many ways . i realize you were being sarcastic but i was thnking the same
It is not hilarious, it's sad. Why can't the sorry assed owner wash his dog like everyone else? This is a form of animal abuse! Why didn't they put the owner of the dog in there?
i think this os one of the most eveil things i have ever seen... how would you like to be locked in a box with water on you and not knowing what is happened... sick sick and nasty for doing that to a poor little animal... shame on you

Simply another intrusion upon a private enterprise. That's NEVER a good thing.
