Turning on vSync in the graphics menu fixed the lag problem for me, although the mouse pointer has a very slight but noticable delay now because of it.

ok i installed the patch 1.05 and it saids some weird missing file. But i can still play the game with the DVD iso i made of my ORiginal. But i still want to play without the cd. Is this issue of mine related to this topic?

@duketheking well, i don't know form where you have the 1.05 patch, but for the crack in this video (and any other no-cd cracks) you need either version 1.00, either 1.1. Any patch after 1.1 is NOT official.

as far as i know, its is the secure rom copy protection that has issues with windows vista and windows 7... after installation, use official patch.. sometime it will run after several securerom errors. but will crash onallot of attempts.. so install a nocd crack which is wot that is should bypass that problem altogether.. ctd's are usually caused by bad profile settings, especially if mods are installed.. also after setting up initial settings then edit profile.cfg in a text editor...

The german crack didnt do a fucking thing it still crashes to desktop...Turning off the DEP also didnt work,changing the compatibility also an epic fail... The problem might be SecuRom* ...idk ...

Off-topic: a youtuber named Pouk3D is making a great mod for HW2. He's sticking with the spirit of the game and not making Gokuships(tm). He also said he won't be altering the vanilla ships, (but I might try to get him to fix the minelayers.)

I hope this works. I was excited when I got a new laptop (which aren't great for gaming, but it was a great deal) because I could finally play homeworld as much as I wanted (we only have one computer besides mine). Well, surprise surprise, it lagged like hell. Someone said they played with a 128mb GPU with no shaders, so I think I should be able to play HW2.

Moving the game into the Program Files folder (not x86) got rid of some lag, but it lags when I look at ships. Should I move it back?
