  • someone that likes mainstream disliked this!

  • Real HipHop is still alive.....J Dilla paved the way for that to be possible, forget all that mainstream ish that's filtered through our radio stations non-stop, the music is still alive and there are still people who make music for their passion and love of it rather than the mere money thats involved.

Check 9th wonders JAMLA artists and IWWMG - this music is still alive and the Dilla dog's presence never left - #realhiphop keep it alive #respect

Thank you for these interviews man.

  • common sounds so baked

  • Dwele always reminds me of dilla. they have similar facial features

  • Common is high as hell.

  • This was beautiful,.. RIP J Dilla

  • Houseshoes is that nigga!!!

  • Artist of the year? That's an insult! More like artist of hip hop.

  • Artist of the Year = J Dilla

  • common iz high as fuck

  • @Dominicanbig101 hahaha word haha

  • even before i knew who dilla was i was a fan of is music.

  • @robbie, same hear! It seems like everyday that I find myself saying, "HE did that?".

  • @robbiebalboa i know EXACTLY what you mean.

  • J Dilla music is timeless and honestly sum of the best music ive ever heard unlike this popcorn bullshit u hear today. Just wanna say thank u for your music and u will never be forgotten

  • I'm glad music is going to shit today. It reassures me that I'm listening to quality and soul.

Thank you Dilla. When I was 8 years old... I was a fan of you after hearing a Busta beat...

  • God bless Mama Yancey. I hear she suffers from lupus as well.

    Thank you, Dilla Dawg.

  • James Yancey - The best that ever lived. No one better.

    TURN IT UP

    A LITTLE LOUDER

    RIP

  • i just starting leaarning about him how id he die???

  • He suffered from Lupus.

  • @damnit619 he did have lupus but he also had a blood disease that drastically decreased his platelet count. His waning platelets severely damaged his immune system and led to kidney failure, and in the end, his death. it's an unfortunate passing. his music lives on and to be honest, it never gets old to me. there are tons of unreleased Dilla work that we have to look forward to. Ma Dukes already said it herself. no matter where i go his music is always with me. and i take comfort in that.

  • Damn..Heaven must be better with him there..RIP Dilla..

  • Jay Dee's Voice Lives When You Hear Artist Like Common, MF DOOM, Talib Qweli, & A Tribe Called Quest. Dillas Beats Live When You Hear Producers Like Flying Lotus And Madlib. They Were All Inspired In Many Ways By J Dilla, And So In A Way He Still Influences Music Though He Has Passed. Rest In Beats Indeed.

  • Don't forget Jay Electronica, Elzhi and Black Milk, plus numerous others.

  • The List Could Literally Go On Forever Lol, But Thanks For Adding

  • every one of them dudes is blazed the fuck out haha. r.i.p. Dilla...thank you.

  • yeah respect or dilla... hes the man of the mans

    r.i.p.

  • if i was to ever meet ma dukes i would cry as if im meeting j dilla him self....peace and much love to the yancey family dilla was and still is the greatist gift ever.....R.I.B.

  • half of dem niggas is high as hell :-D

  • Man..... Listening to Moma Yancey made me tear up. Prayers and Blessing to her. R.I.P Dilla . GOAT!

  • *Points up* Respect Dilla. Respect.

    FUCK YOU NIGGAS

  • Hell ya man! I wore a J Dilla shirt the other day and dudes was like "who's J Dilla?"

  • ahh his mom is so sweet ! man I miss my mom! I can only imagine how she feels

  • when Dilla passed he took hip hop with him. hip hop sucks right now

  • mainstream hip hop sucks! but underground hip hop is still alive with artists like madlib, MF DOOM, common, 9th wonder, murs, atmosphere, cunninlynguists, little brother, and many more

  • Underground? Whats that? Mainstream sucks? Not even. Wack ass underground cats are as wack as wack mainstream cats. Good mcs are good fuck what venue or how much money they make (or don't)

  • i totally feel you on that one.

  • @PhuckHue2 thats why its up to us to make him proud and bring that shit to life again

  • him being gone hurts me alot

like i feel i knew him close

when you feel something like that

you know he makes good music

  • rip j dilla best producer ever still shining up in heaven

  • i went from common,to talib kweli,to mfdoom,to stones throw, where i found jaydee.im blown away byhow much ican relate to his feeling of producing a majorpart n hiphop culture.i admire dilla & i dont know where id be right now without his music.

true legend, and like all of the best hip hop artists, i say RIP.

im glad i can say im growing up on dilla.

i wouldnt have it any other way. ya feel me?

  • heard about him early this year.

so what, hearing his music this late in the game,im17,makes mefeel foolish n that ive been so stuck on not knoing where togo in music, because everything is losing somuch spirit n hiphop.

  • I am a true Dilla fan but I must admit never heard of him until after he passed but I regret it cuz I dint get to hear him in his prime. Is not really my fault though cuz In only 15.And probably the only teen in my city(San Antonio)who listens to him so even though I'm a fairly new listener/fan I still hold him down and have bought all but I think two of his and Mad's tapes which I plan on purchasing later on.Just wanted to let you know you didn't have to be there when it started to love it.One!

  • don't trip ... i knew his musick but not his name ..his own momma didn't know all his musick true artis's, at times...don't get they due 'till they pass away sum timezz....p e a c e

  • Peace my lil' Brotha.

  • great piece. I love my ma'dukes!!!

  • ♪

  • Common is so f****in blowed!!!!!!LOl

  • RIP DILLA DOG ..... "Who's better?"

  • Woah Shit, I got goose bumps. Rest In Beats.

  • J-Dilla changed my life.

  • He was a tight rapper too. Better than 99% of rappers on the radio right now. Fuck you, Soulja Boy!

  • "Hollah @ Ya Boy, He don't just produce BEATS!"

  • Oh no, no, no. He was THE BEST. You don't understand sampling and beatmaking at all. Listen to "Much More" and tell me how the fuck he filtered out the vocals with the instruments still sounding sharp. And then listen to "Won't Do" and tell me how the fuck he made that beat. Give me the name of one producer who is tighter. Only Premier, Pete Rock, Quik, Daz, and Dre come close in my book.

  • Oops, almost forgot Hi-Tek. And Madlib of course.

  • hell yeah dj shadow was the shit!! not anymore tho he does hyphy musik now :(

  • u fuckin kiddin me

  • FUCK YOU

  • rest in peace J Dilla

  • this kid just doesnt understand how tight his beats were... he doesnt kno what it takes to make a beat like that

  • spoken like a true retarded fuck.

  • A winrar is you, buffbluntz

  • what's that? anyhow, i probably shouldn't have been mean, but wtf? gasface.
