@Quelvisv you should also recall that the song was penned by nappy for another act! in the band... who had the skill of delivering just as effective as Wayne... but it was given to him and pushed by the band...That same act did not try to dominate the stage when performing but stayed in the backgroung and supported... He left the band because of his own free will and soon realised that he did not have the 'family' as he did with the band. Fustration cause of HIS choice and love life caused death

Wayne Rodriguez (1966-2001) won the Roam March in 1998 with this. It is a shame that he had to rush to St. Peter's Gate to ease the hurt that was deliberately placed upon him because he decided to make his own history , rather than staying in the shadows of another act! There were and always will be room for another artist, an artist must never feel that he/she has the God given rights to have a monopoly on the industry. 2011 will make it 10 years he killed himself evidently outta frustration.

Footsteps will always be my favorite Road March tune probably because that was my 1st year at Carnival in T&T. I was actually in that Soca Monarch crowd in '98. It was crazy when he performed, they were screaming "On de Ground" for about 3 minutes, after he had already left the stage.
