Olga did indeed have the same dismount as Elenda Davydova-in fact she was the first to do it and it's named for Korbut I believe. :) I agree that if Olga had been carefully trained and brought along without outside pressure-she could have still been a contender in Moscow.
You certainly are right, Loutyr.Thank heavens for Toller and Olga. Such a great artist she was. Loved to see how she enjoyed her sport so much. The only one who did too was Oksana Omelianchik from Ukraine.
Oksana Omelianchik was the World Champion Indiviuals(together with Elena Chouchounova ) in 1985 and Oksana also was the World Champion on Floor in 1985.And she too loved her sport and she too had the charisma like Olga had at that time. Far more than Nadia Comaneci in 1976
And thank you M'am or the nice explanation. In 1984 CBS took production of the sports spec into the network and I parted company with amateur sports. I'm afraid my sports knowledge ends in mid 1984. Best
Well, I must say you know a lot about sports and I suppose my knowledge of figureskating/gymnastics is just because I find these sports very attractive. I try to keep up with the latest developments.
And thank you for viewing amuch bypassed look at on of the greatest Beam performers ever. Olgo was great both in action and as a person. Thanks for the comment.
That music in the background fits her routine perfectly!

Does she have music on the balance-beam? I saw nobody on the floor and she seems to do her exercise to the music. Was that common those days?
