Your combination of videos and music is wonderful. My father had a beautiful tenor's voice and I can almost hear him singing this song. Thank you. Kathy...
In keeping with the background of many Australians, my own background is cosmopolitan and involves English, Welsh, Irish and Danish. My Danish grandmother married my Irish grandfather but sadly he died of blood poisoning just before I was born in 1945. Some of the Irish obviously rubbed off on my grandmother, because when I was small she sang The Mountains of Mourne to me on many occasions. Indeed it the first song I remember ever hearing, and it is just as beautiful today as it was then!
Thank you very much for sharing about your family history and your memories :-) I'm happy you could find again on my video a song you remember from you childhood.
Thanks to you for watching and commenting my video! :)
I have not a Scottish/Irish side (I'm Italian, though I'd love very much to visit those place someday), but Celtic music and McDermott's one surely are beautiful!!!

Great video! Mr. McDermott's music certainly appeals to my Scots-Irish side. Thank you for posting such a great selection.

A wonderful song by Percy French. He also wrote Phil the Fluter's Ball.
And another superb performance by John McDermott.
Same tune is used for Bendemeer's Stream which is also on
Youtube.
Tnx 4 posting.
