  • Loving, everyone's comments..

  • and Petra Cynthia Annes 14 yr old cousin was gangraped when Cynthia was taken...she wrote her own book after escaping....so did 70 yr old granny who was also raped and had her breasts cut off....Just like the Taliban did to the Hazara clan in the 80's and 90's .

  • its ridiculous for Comanche to believe they never committed crimes...rape , torture , scalping and murder were indicitive of tribal warfare long before the white man got there in most native American tribes...and south american native tribes....doesnt mean the white man was always right but yup it really happened.

  • And personally, all the comments about who is right and who is wrong is not even related to the topic...Comanche took white children from their families at young ages and raised them as their own. For all intents and purposes, those children BELIEVED themselves to be Comanche. Personally, all of you people who are saying, "The comanche were this" and "The whites were that" are ignorant of the entire story. Get some context for Cynthia Ann, then post a smart comment, if at all possible.

  • unfortunatley gang raping captive women and torturing captives to death seem to be a comanche trait since the 1600s...read empire of the summer moon, or ask rachel .

  • @curtismes Empire of the Summer Moon is not the greatest resource to go to in looking at history....it's about as good as Wikipedia.

  • Honestly, if any of you want to know what really happened to Cynthia Ann as well as the rest of the Comanches and Texans of the time, go out and read Empire of the Summer Moon by C.S. Gwynne... It draws off direct quotations from primary documents, and depicts a cultivation of the American West. Because what happened, unfortunately happened. The irony lies within Quanah, the last warrior, son of Cynthia Ann Parker, who died without truly knowing either side of his story, epitomizing the West

  • @TennesseeNurselady white man came and stole our country?? Killed our food stole our crops??? OUR LANDS we did not invite. We were friendly till WHITES attacked. THEY took our home and food from us. WHITES invaded us not we invaded them?? This was OUR country not visa versi. Not to mention when the WHITES threw the white flag of peace, then when our Chiefs went to meet them they slaughter every old woman & old men and child left behind

  • @parkerbrown2000 comanches NEVER get the fair end. Fair representation??? White man never came over to rob our lands????? Made none legal contracts with us time and time again?? NEVER once abided by the contracts they wrote......................

  • @parkerbrown2000 You seem brave enough to hear the truth. You might want to read Paul H Carlson's historical documentry, "Myth, Memory and Massacre" and then you can talk about what really happened. Besides I would think Cynthia Parker's side of the story would be the only one that matters.

  • All of the adult females captured at Fort Parker were gang raped. Granny Parker was gang raped, stabbed in the breast and left for dead. She lived to tell the tale.

  • There is more to the story. She also had a daughter who died Of what they called the white mans disease.

  • Cynthia Ann Parker Is my 6th cousin. She was taken at a young age and raised by Indians. She was never Brainwashed. She lived with the Indians for so long she grew to love them as her own family. Her family later came to take her from the Indians after she married the Chief of the Tribe and had a son Quanah Parker. When he was born he had light skin so she used to take berry juice and mud to darken him. After she was captured from the Indians. She went back to the tribe. Her Family

  • @WhiteDove1021 She actually didn't go back to the tribe. From all accounts I've read, she tried to several times but was stopped and/or locked up. Had she been able to escape successfully, I really doubt she would have died when she did.

  • She was NOT brainwashed by the Indians. The Comanches had a way of raising children they had captured. They raised Cynthia and her brother as their own; Cynthia was only 9 when she was captured, so very little memory of her white life existed. Nobody denies that the Comanches raided the fort and killed, but this is clearly a song about Cynthia's POV after being taken from the only home she'd ever known. Get real buddy.
