The VX-1000 isn't good because it's got a VGA resolution.

yeah, do what the others said. the less light the camera needs to take in, the less laggy, choppy, and slow it will be. you have too much light coming in, and you need more ram.

Check your task manager cause something is using your mem and cpu. LifeCam VX-1000 needs those resources.
