Ich freute mich, Live Gottfried Preller am 14. September 2005 in einem Konzert bei Michaelis-Kirche in Hamburg zu hören. Unvergeßlich. Verankre danke!!!!
Listen very carefully to 9:20 - 9:22. There is this small pause and a high note is played, you can't catch it in many performances, but I love it. It's so subtle, but it really prepares that final coda.
I heartily agree...5 stars! This is amongst the best renditions of this piece on YouTube. Too bad it's only got 4,000+ views and only a handful of comments. Thanks to SoliDeoGloria8550 for sharing this.
That is indeed the organ that Bach played and in the space in which it was played - It had been altered many times through the years, but the last restoration (around 2000) basically restored it to the way it was in Bach's early lifetime. Preller is a marvelous organist and I heard him many times while staying in Arnstadt.
Indeed, this is from a DVD named "J.S. Bach: Life and works". The page in Amazon says it is currently unavailable, however I downloaded it with μTorrent :)) I hope that helps
Actually, shall your option be Torrent, do the search in german words, I just noticed that the title in the server Mininova was literally "Leben und Werk of Johan Sebastian Bach". It's a .nrg file, which should be an image file ready to burn with Nero, however if you do not have Nero you can always extract the audio and video folders with Winrar, then burn yourself a DVD with ImgBurn
And you're very welcome. If for some reason you're not familiar with all this software lingo, please just let me know, I'll forward you by mail a more detailed explanation to these programs. I just started about a year ago with DVD conversions, and all I've ever used (successfully, I might add) is free software.
Your explanation is very precise, I know that process, normally if the Torrent is still "alive" everything works; anyway my wife is computer-engineer so I think that she will help me if I'll find some problems.
Danke für diesen großartigen Bildschirm.

Kantor Preller sieht Bach sehr ähnlich ;-) Fehlt nur noch Perücke und Kostüm!

Fabulous performance - probably the best I've heard. The organ is wonderful. Is this really the organ Bach played on ?
