After you defeat DEEEEEEEEEENISSS, DEEEEEEEEEENISSS, DEEEEEEEEEENISSS the MEEEEEEEEEENACCCE, you can find Alder at the top of the Celestial Tower. He talks about his deceased starter Pokémon and that he rings the bell to calm its spirit, but he doesn't give you anything which sucks major blue whale balls.

Alder, at first i wasn't too fond of him, mostly 'cus the B/W Champion theme is, imo, the worst yet, and his team is fairly goofy.

Except the more i see him, the more awesome he is, plus this song is epic.

Also: In the manga canon, his Afro Buffalo knows surf. Like a Boss.

I was expecting the worst when I got to Alder, especially as Caitlin had pretty much decimated most of my team. My Sawk & Emboar pretty much wiped out Alder's group in under 5 minutes. That was a massive letdown, especially since Cynthia set a new benchmark in difficulty a few years back.

That being said though, this music should have been remixed into the Champion battle song, it would have worked so well and it does a brilliant job just on it's own.

The only reason Alder is easy to beat is because by the time you have him you have level 70's and stuff and EVERYTHING is easier with level 70's plus. It's just not fair to judge him to be weak.

Sounds like something from Runescape; suits Alder perfectly. He always seemed to me like that old adventurer who travelled the world and didn't use electronics, but instead was in tune with nature, hence the instruments used in the piece.

At first I didn't care much for him, because he left behind his responsibilities as champion to wonder off. But his story is pretty interesting, and he does end up doing the right thing in the end, and he's pretty badass as well. He's probably my 7th favorite character in the series. Contrary to what everyone says, I believe this theme suits Alder pretty well. I mean, he's like some kind of legendary old dude, not a young champion (unlike the previous games). So his theme doesn't need to sound badass and crazy, it just gives you a sense of mystery behind the guy.
