Wait, you're 20 years old and are a warning coordinator at the BNA office? There is only one warning coordinator and that is Thomas Johnstone, and I damn well know he isn't 20.
@ZacharyLassiter They still do have those microphones attached to those computers to allow the meteorologists to take over if neccesary. Also, most (but not all) National Weather Service offices test the Weatheradio System live with a meteorologist reading a test script.

@21zachrwd What's a warning coordinator? The WCM?
They did issue a Tornado Emergency shortly after this on another Severe Weather Statement to the next Tornado Warning polygon they issued.

What kind of weather radio is this?
raymondlee3327 1 year ago
@raymondlee3327 It's the weather alert function on my Kenwood D710A Amateur Radio Transceiver

@bholcomb14 Can it decode those SAME tones? Or does it rely on te 1050Hz tone?
raymondlee3327 1 year ago
@raymondlee3327 It's all based on the 1050hz tone. It's just a small feature in a very expensive HAM radio

Heh, they still have microphones attached to those things. I thought it was just the stupid computer voices these days
