If you get a Mac, you can buy PC software, and install it on a Mac. However, Mac won't let you do the same of a PC, but Microsoft are happy to let their software run on Macintoshes.
With the new bootcamp software from apple .com you can run windows xp/vista on mac 10.5.8 or later

Actually Halo 2 does run on a Mac running XP or Vista. Vista is crap compared to XP. Cool animation though.
