ok now lets see alucard from the hellsing anime. might even use the black leather part of the vincent costume cause he is tied up in one like that at one point in the series. but usually he has red suit with hat on.

how did you make the leather outfit?

@michiko4249 um its not that easy to describe but first off I drafted my own pattern using a double breasted doublet as the reference (and the play arts action figure of vincent). The belts I found at 2nd hand store, chopped them into the right length then shot riverts through them to attach it to the shirt. The belt tips are all femo with fabric paint filigree then spray painted over with silver. The pants are separate, bought those at hot topic.

Some tips for new(b) cosplayers: Contacts isn't really necessary, but if you want it, I really suggest getting perscription contacts. If you don't then you'll be risking damaging your eyes. Its YOUR opportunity cost, would you rather wear non-prescription contacts and risk being blind forever, or would you rather get prescription contacts and not be blind. I don't mean to offend anyone, this is just a tip for you to keep in mind.

I wouldn't suggest putting eyeliner on the lower lash line, though since your eyes are pretty big already.

However, I still think you did a pretty good job nonetheless

@Cherriedesu anime characters dont have makeup on, but they are not real and unfortunately for most people (myself included) our skin isnt as nice as these 2d hand painted characters =P

Great video! After completing my list of characters I've wanted to cosplay, including Chaos Vincent, I've finally got to this version of Vincent. I'm horrible at makeup (I rarely even wear it for cosplay, since I'm very very pale anyways) and did some research and came across this. You paid attention to the details that I caught and was looking for, like the lip color and such. This was extremely helpful and thank you a lot for making the video! I also have a question but I've run out of room.XD

wow this is great i was at Sakuracon 09 myself and i think i saw you. I was walking around with Chaos if you saw him there. But i do have a question...would you recommend airbrush makeup for Chaos on the face? I spent forevere with regular white makeup and well it turned out but i don't want to spend hours doing makeup if you know what i mean.

As for the question you asked: airbrush makeup is always a better option plus you can get some pretty cool effects with it that you cant with just brush on makeup. What kind of white makeup did you use? I hear that Ben Nye Co. makes great clown white makeup, I`m going to purchase some for some Visual Kei costumes I have coming up.

Um it was just regular makeup. It's funny i built the costume but it was my friend in it. However another is in the works and i will be the one under the makeup. How would you go about doing the lines without ruining the white make up?

Is there such this as a "prescription colored contacts"? cause i wear prescription glasses and contacts... and i dont want to wear glasses on my cosplay cause my character dosent have glasses... and i want the eyes the same color as his. so pls tell if there is such thing D:

Hi there! Yes there are prescription colored contacts. You can order them through your eye doctor or online. If you order online you will have to have your prescription written down as well as the name as your eye doctor, most websites will not sell colored contacts without this information.

i did have my doubts as to how much makeup you were putting on for a male cosplay but... i was really surprised with how well it came out!! just goes to show me that you have to have the right kind of makeup and technique even if you put on a lot... GREAT JOB!!

i would recommend if you do another makeup tutorial (and i hope you will) get a little more soft light on your face so we can see better
