@MrFrans001 Thanks for the comment, I wrote this description 3 years ago, so not sure where I got the info. Some S.A. hunting safari pages I looked at stated you can hunt the Jackal where they will skin and the animal will be harvested... in some rare stories i found the meat to be sold and just recently it was found being sold in India. But I will change the description to say hunted as a pest, as that better states what is going on.

The Hebrew word for Jackal also can mean Dragon, apparently. The King James Version of the Bible mentions dragons many times, but the American Standard Version (AD 1900)changed it to Jackals... because of evolutionary thought.

I noticed that jackal families are similar to human families. Males and females mate for life and both contribute to the raising of the pups, sort of like human parents or at least most of them anyway. Hey BriCzar22, I saw these animals in the Kansas City Zoo, they had a pretty good exhibit and one of the females was somewhat crippled (from leg surgery). I noticed the male was bringing treats to her. Upon asking the keeper doling out the treats he said ever since she was injured he has taken care of her. That he ALWAYS was aking treats or food to her before eating himself. So I wondered if they were all like that or just that pair.
