You have a deep sense of the spirit of the land and the spirit of the peoples who have lived there before, as if you have lived there yourself, in past times...its 'haunting' (in a good way) and mysterious. I like it !
Thanks Sgt, Harpers Ferry was chosen by George Washington for the 1st Federal Armory. The Armory was destroyed by the Civil War, but the Town lives on. We learn from the ghosts of the past...
Beautiful place. How WV should look but in my southern part of the state mountaintop removal and logging is quickly turning the entire area into a toxic,war-zone looking disaster.
Yeah imagine that a President would actually lead armies in a War they helped to start. LOL Washington was really quite a warrior, farmer, surveyor, businessman, and leader.
Feeling The Freedom Blues! Love the cinematography!

I ADORE Harper's Ferry. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't been there in some time. I shall be planning a visit soon, though!!!!

It's where we gave up the Articles of Confederation in favor of a Federal Republic.

Yeah, the loss of State's rights is important to remember also, and that all of our founding fathers had flaws as well.
