  • Grande John Denver. Um dos maiores cantores americanos do estilo country. Pena ter morrido tão cedo e de forma tão trágica. Sempre fui fã de suas músicas, ainda hoje as curto, principalmente sunshine oh my shoulder.

  • I wished I lived in the Montana land, that he sung so well. Made me feel like the land is so alive in our hearts and souls. We live so much in civilization we forget the true beauty of the land, God gave us. God Bless You, John Denver.

  • Listing to John Denver and Pat Hawk is a pleasure un matched !

  • Just thinking of John and listening to this tune. So tragic. The songs that he would have made. One human being that shouldn't have died

    RIP JD

  • Sorry I meant to say probably.

  • @TheMerryBear Darcy Farrow and pron

  • @HELPTHEPICKLEISALIVE

Thank you for the info, but I found the video, great song

  • What's the full name of the song John sings after Montana Skies and is it on You Tube?

  • I was fortunate to be sitting in the second row on the left at Sony studios when he did these songs. I will never forget John Denver and the impact he had on my life. I still mourn his death.

  • JOHN DENVER's songs are really soothing to the soul & heart that's why i love him so much.He has an amazingly beautiful voice...a gifted artst indeed!

  • my first concert in 1977 was John Denver at Madison Square Garden, the album, "I Want to Live". I was fortunate to see him almost every year until his death, even at the dedication at WVU of Morgantown's new football stadium. A kind soul, with a good heart, gone too soon.

  • Saw him live in Seattle, a surprise gift to my wife. We used to sing our kids to sleep with his songs. Cherised memories.

Still put on his CD's sometimes.

  • JD recorded this with Amy Lou Harris........it is wonderful. No disrespect to this lady signing with him.............but the recording with Amy Lou Harris is worth finding if you can.

  • @GORTCLATUMIRADA That would be Emmylou Harris. No fairer voice in all the land except perhaps maybe John himself. GREAT GREAT duet.

  • @clarissaNaz Thank you clarissaNaz.....Yes, one of the all time great duets!!

  • John Denver is for me what country music should be, and never will be again. I was 4 or 5 when he died, but my parents played his music all the time, and he will always be dear to my heart. It's a loss to the world that he will never play a live concert again.

  • John Denver -a legend. Out here in India each one of his songs inspire me every day - its the only thing i listen in my car. Each one of his songs are so spiritual and so deep. Amazing.

  • I used to hear this beautiful music in the 80s on my walkman and it always filled me with a wonderful energy. Thanks for the post, RIP loved John..

  • First cd I ever had, John Denver's Greatest Hits...the world needs this kind of songwriting and talent and just love for life.

  • John puts a lotta energy into this version.

First heard the song when I was driving. Went straight to a record store

and picked up the album. Kept looking to find out who was singing

w/ John. It was Emmy Lou Harris, her name in a font smaller than an

    ant.

I heard John about 44 years ago when he was singing w/ the Chad

Mitchel Trio. He left us too soon.

  • One of my favorite JD Songs and one of the best persons who ever lived! WE STILL MISS YOU JOHN!

  • Incredible song. I have always loved JD. RIP

  • I grew up with my dad playing John Denver songs all the time, i love his lyrics, they really connect with how I feel about the world. The other thing about his music is it really is the sound of my childhood on account of my dad being such a big fan. Shame i'll never get to see him in concert like my dad did though.

  • Watching this video yet again, a true hero to me, and his music inspires anyone who hears it, he has inspired me and I am now in the music college playing guitar and piano. My signature song is this one. Love his music

  • Was sitting here signing along with my nephew, like my mom sang to me, almost made me choke up.. RIP John, your dearly missed

  • There was and will always be only one John Denver. RIP, John. The world is so much poorer without you ...

  • I love that Redhead who is his backing woman singer, who is she???? John is always absolutely fantastic. Just wish i had known more of him when i was younger.

  • I love that Redhead who is his backing woman singer, who is she????

  • @Matuku35 The Redhead backup singer is Pat Hawk

  • @Matuku35 Her Name is Pat Hawk ; Talent and Looks too !

  • I have loved this man and his music since I was a teenager. I was fortunate enough to have seen him in concert twice, once in the round and the other as part of his Higher Ground tour, both times in the '80s, here in Asheville, NC. There will never be another like him.

  • OMG, I cried a bit when I first heard this song.

  • The music just pours out of this man. I never saw him in concert but listening to all these songs makes me want to buy everything he ever did.

  • oh Montana give your dog a bone

  • My Choir is doing an arrangement of this :D

  • Grazie Dio che ci hai dato la bella musica che accompagna la nostra vita.

...pensate se non ci fosse,la vita sarebbe più triste.

    Ciao

    Luca Italia

  • I really love these songs too.. I've loved JD for about 36 years (now i feel old!). And I was lucky enough to see him 3 times in Melbourne, Australia.

  • What a great song. Gives one the feeling of true family, freedom and what means to love the land. Thanks!

  • This is my favorite song of all time.

  • I was surprised to see Elvis's lead guitarist Jimmy Burton with John. They sure made beautiful and REAL music!

  • My favorite Jonh Denver's Song!

  • I love this song so much. I was born in the cities but in my soul is country. the land of our ancestors, the land we fought for freedom, the land that our blood lays on, the land we love, the land we live on. Thank You God for John Denver and our land.

  • Usually nowadays among the big stars and singers, you can "compare" how similar some of the people sound.

John Denver's voice...just seems to be set apart from itself. I don't know of anyone from the past or present who has his tone and pitch in itself. He has just the right amount to make very pleasant singing.

  • Great song,i love this song verry mutch! We will never foget him~~~~the Netherlands.

  • I grew up in the Santa Ynez area, It so sad the man that sold john his plane just passed away in a plane crash.

  • j'adore ce chanteur, serait-il possible de se procurer tout le concert il est fabuleux, merci d'avance, amitiés, roger

  • John Denver forever... hope your Music lives on forever...

  • @Afroman2978 His music WILL live on forever just as he will to those who love him!

    nancy

  • Does anyone know the name of the second song that John sings on this video?

  • @509Handyman19

    It's name is Darcy Farrow

  • I was fortunate to see him in concert here in Omaha, Nebraska in 1975, back in his really popular days. I was 16 yrs old. He was my very 1st concert. I was so excited. What a wonderful concert. He made you feel like you were at his house. I really forgot I was in an auditorium. He is so very missed, we lost a great man. Thanks for posting:)

  • I got to see him when I was tiny, and I still remember it ^////////^ one of the best singers usa has

  • My mother was flying from Denver, CO to Houston, TX. She boarded the plane and made it to her seat. Seeing the window seat was taken by someone staring out the window onto the Tarmac. She sat in the aisle seat and caught the attention of the man and he turned to see who was sitting down. She looked over at the same time and realized it was John Denver. They spoke for the entire flight and she said one thing consistently, that he was the most GENUINELY nice person she had ever met in her life!

  • I've spent a month in Montana, in the bitteroot valley, in a really nice family, the nicest i've ever met, and I miss them so much, and everytime i hear this song i think about them and about the Montana (one the most beautiful place on earth, even probably the most beautiful) and i have tears in my eyes. He was a genius!<3

  • Whoo, great song. I've lived in the Bitterroot Valley my whole life and it's still gorgeous... nothing's really changed for the most part

  • Whoo, great song. I've lived in the Bitterroot Valley my whole life and I gotta say, its still as beautiful as ever... Nothing's changed much for the most part.

  • I Miss You John. i wasn't even born when he died, but i love him all the same. Thank You so much for posting this.

  • Saw John at Red Rocks, then many times in places like Saratoga. God, I am fortunate. There was a shooting star at my first J D concert. The PEACE was all encompassing.

  • John Denver was truly and international star. He was loved for his music around the world. There was something about the man also. He spoke the language of the common man. He sang songs of the heart that is universal to all people. Wild Montana skies is one of my all time favorites. There is something about that song that makes me tear up everytime I try to sing it. He speaks to the ache in all of us. Only now in these confusing times can we fully appreciate the simple truths he sang about.

  • one of the finest stars that has ever lived!

  • @superantichristlover he sure was.

  • I have a picture of him that my father took of him in Alaska. He is taking out the trash to the dumpster.

  • @83redshadow it must be cool to have a pic of someone so inspiring :).

  • i was also two when he died and five when i first heard him, i wish i could have seen him live.

  • @calumh100 yeah he was great.

  • @calumh100 i was one when he died and one of my greatest wishes which sadly won´t ever come true is that see him alive.

  • @calumh100

I shared the world with him for two years. I didn't discover his music until only recently through.

  • @calumh100 i shld have seen im in concert but he died b4 it happend im 52 and i still feel like i was cheated xx

  • i was fortunate to see John in concert a few years before he died on the grounds of the Santa Ynez mission. It was a gorgeous clear day with the mountains in the background and someone was flying a kite. I will always remember that day

  • @rigbyfin that must have been amazing.

  • @rigbyfin John used to give benefit concerts at a camp for Deaf children near Snowmass, Colorado. One year, my friends and I got to take turns interpreting for him. It started to rain, one of those Colorado summer showers, and he sang "Sunshine on my Shoulders" over and over until the rain stopped. I was 23; I'm 55 now, and I'll never forget that. He's one of my favorites, and his music takes me home to Colorado. I love this song; just discovered it a few years ago.

  • I was only two when he died, and six when I first heard his music. Seeing him live was always a dream I had, but one that'll never come true.

  • its sad that we cant see himagain, thanks for the comment.

  • @assassintwinat8 yeah i was only 6 when he died, shame we will never get to see him.

  • @arlenenoone omg I am getting old

  • @arlenenoone I was 2 months old. My parents always listen too this. I used too like it but then I realized it wasn't "popular". Now I really like John Denver again.

  • @arlenenoone pray that you may see him in heaven, by the grace of God

  • Who's the woman singing harmony?

  • Was born and raised in Montana untill I was about 14, moved to Portland OR, and now 14 years later Im moving back on Friday, and this song makes me so exited!! thanks for posting, Its wonderfull!

  • you''re welcome,glag you enjoyed it.

  • I heard JD was bipolar - is that true?

  • Most musician that I know are moody. I saw in an interview of John's that he admitted that he was very moody.

There is a big difference in being moody and being bipolar. Besides, while he was on the road, he had to be energized for the fans. I do know that his band members loved playing with him. I am sure he had to have some down time when he returned home. Annie said that when he got home from traveling, he would not shave or shower for a couple of days and would just chill out. So, no!

  • thats true,thank you.

  • its the first ive heard of this.

  • @res57 I am not sure however I read somewhere that he may have had Aspergers Syndrome which is a form of autism.

  • The FAA did not qualify him for medical class license for his inability to prove he was alchole free while flying planes. No alchole was found in his body during his death. I did not say it caused his death..

  • ok.

  • alcholism is such a cruel enemy..he couldnt overcome it.

  • he was free of alcohol for a few years before he died.

  • he makes me happy....what a tragic waste

  • yeah,thanks.

  • i grew up on john denver. i remember the die he passed. my mother cried all day. many years later, i finally understand why.

  • thanks for the comment.

  • Wild Montana Skies is my favourite John`s song and he`s my favourite singer ever! He marked and influenced my life so deeply, since I was 14! I`m 37 now and my daughter sings Wild Montana Skies together with me. Thank you John, we miss you.

  • it sure is a great song, thank you!

  • Actually John Denver is considered by most to be Folk Music.

  • yes thats true although he considered himself to be a western artist.

  • Bom demais!!!

  • obrigado.

  • what is the name of the second song?? there are two songs on this video right? or am i wrong?? btw john denver is a huge chapter in country music..

  • The first song is "Wild Montana Skies" and the second song is "Darcy Farrow" - which John did not write and is being turned into a book based in Nevada. It is also based in the 1850's and on Denver's version of the song. There are several versions!

Also BTW - John Denver's music was NOT country music - he considered his music "western"!! He was ALWAYS in the middle - too soft for rock and roll stations - and not "country" enough for country stations - although he did play on TNN several times.

  • Eventually - by the mid 1970's they made a category for him - called "Easy Listening" - which now is where The Eagles also are placed!!!!

  • yes thats true.

  • yes, according to John Denver A Video Portrait he considered himself as a western artist.

  • It's called Darcy Farrow.

  • song is also on

    Wild Life concert (disc 1);

    Country Roads Colection,

    Greatest Hits Vol 3,

    Its About Time,

and Harbor Lights Concert (Disc 1)

When I got married, the night we came home, I played "Perhaps Love" with Placido Domingo several times... There are few songs on earth, telling you more about what love can be than this one...

  • hi, i have this wildlife concert and i watch it all the time. I was born in 76, so i wasnt around when he was really famous in the early 70's but i still miss him, he brought a lot of hope into the world as well as into my life. this may sound corny as hell, but both of my parents are dead, and i hope my parents have met John, can you imagine? okay, i'll be quiet now-LOL

  • hi,he sure did bring alot of hope into the world,I didnt even hear of him until about 3 or 4 years ago,it doesnt sound corny,i would love to meet him too when I go,he's just so inspiring!thanks for your wonderful comment!

  • His voice was at its best here.. suddenly the world seems a colder place when I realise I will never hear another new song of his.
