It feels good to know that they've got their happy ending -3. I was crying this whole episode. I can really relate to the character Tom, I would've done the same thing or followed Ulli to Munich.

How stupid an ending was that... :-( So he came after the job to be unhappy and alone.. They love each other so very much, but those evil jobs of theirs must tear them apart and there's no helping it.. I understand the actor playing Ulli was leaving the show, but it would have been more sensible to just kill him off than feed us this illogical crap ending. If you love him then fucking stay with him and if he says he wants to stay then don't fucking send him off.. But that would be too simple:-(

hi suptomatos, the name of the clip is called Catching up with Tom and Ulli. It's about one minute long. BTW, Check out Ireneks channel for the storyline about Tom and Olli. Obviously that relationship didn't work out because Olli is with Christian now. It's still a nice storyline though.

We have the potential for a life long love, however we view it as an expendable commodity because it is inconveinient and it takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice to achieve. Less than a hundred years after the Great Depression people are loosing everything they thought would last forever. My conclusion is that one should put all the effort into a worthy life long partner. I would rather be a little less rich and have love than to be well off and alone. That's how these to will be in the end.

Thanks eutuve for your insights on gay behavior. Promiscuousness is based on the lack of commitment of the couple to make things work. I don't think it is applicable to gays or to heteros alone. After all, the term "womanizer" was not established in relation to gays. Why end a love relationship that is still blooming. If is blooming, it is going in the correct direction. If the relationship goes sour, the couple should have the maturity to end it in a healthy manner. Merry Christmas to you too.

I wonder, why sometimes people put a job opportunity before love and their personal relationship? I guess they will later regret it. The job will not be with you in hard times, a loving human being, he/she, will be there for you.

Actually, I think it's more generational. The older actors are happy in what they are doing - have a steady job whereas younger actors want more out of their professional life, spread their wings, and end up leaving to try other things.

Damn, that ending was so sad. My eyes are tearing...I feel bad for the both of them, but Tom taking a step back as it moved along just broke my heart.

I don't even understand what they're saying; the acting says enough.

Tom is still worried about not being able to see Ulli. Ulli tells him that they can visit every weekend and everything will be fine. Tom takes Ulli to the train station, where he tells him that he won't visit him in Munich and doesn't want Ulli to come back to Duesseldorf. He says he would rather cut things off on a good note than go through the pain of growing apart. Ulli says he'll stay in Duesseldorf but Tom tells him to be practical and pushes him onto the train. Ulli tells Tom he loves him.

Hi Ivan,

Andreas Stenschke (Ulli) wollte halt damals unbedingt die Serie verlassen, und so mussten sie sich irgendwie ein Ende der Beziehung zusammenschustern;)

Ich habe mir seither oft die Frage gestellt, wie es weitergegangen wäre, wenn Andreas geblieben wäre.

Möglicherweise hätte das für Jo Weil (Olli) bedeutet, dass er in VL nie die Bedeutung als Schauspieler (in D, und der ganzen Welt) erlangt hätte, die er jetzt hat.

Ist doch irgendwie eine berechtigte Frage, oder?

Nachtrag:

Nach Ullis Weggang entschied man sich, dass Olli (bis dahin nur kleiner Nebendarsteller) Toms neuer Lover werden sollte. Damit rückte Jo Weil zu einem der Hauptdarsteller auf. Aber auch er ging dann irgendwann in 2002.

Als er dann Ende 2007 zur VL zurückkehrte, entschied man sich, ihm eine neue schwule Storyline zu geben. Dieser Tatsache haben wir es jetzt zu verdanken, dass es überhaupt Christian + Olli gibt.

Also hat der Split zwischen T+U am Ende doch etwas Gutes bewirkt.:)
