God, who cares. I for one am loving the breather from Smithy's fangirls gushing for hours on end about their idol. Gives me the opportunity to stream some Classic Who as well.
@N13AS The commonwealth supports you, but the doctor is supposed to be an inter planetary time crossing traveler. He can't land in the U.K. EVERY time. He was eventually going to come to the states, torchwood too.
p.s.: I hope, if their is a 12th doctor-eventually- that he is GINGER ^__^
@maishi The Doctor has gone to america already, tones and tones of times. I hated all the hype that they gave it at the start of Series 6 "He is coming to america!" WOW! He has only done that... um, HUNDREDS of times....
@The1stDirector sorry for procrastinating, but..... I know he's been to america, but it's mostly in an america i wasn't alive for, or the freaking dessert! I mean the nixon era, the great depression, way back during the azrec(?), Monroe, area 51.....seriously. I just want one episode in present day new york city or LA that i can recognize, not alternate usa or future usa. I don't want him to stay(america tends to poison british shows).
and don't assume i'm american, just because i live here now
Care to explain why America is getting to see torchwood first? We share doctor who with america now, so why aren't we seeing torchwood at the same time?
Stop complaining! Why hate Matt Smith or Stephen Moffat when you've probably never even given it a chance? It doesn't make you cooler, it doesn't make you more of a legitimate geek or nerd and it definitely doesn't make you seem like more of a Doctor Who fan! It makes you seem like a hipster. I loved David Tennant as the Doctor and yes, I miss him, but Matt Smith is awesome as well. Same goes voor Russel T Davies and Stephen Moffat. There.
I miss you David and Russel, I hate doctor who now its a shitty, kids show. I fed up of moffat trying to put as much as he can into one episode and smith and 'pond's ridiculous attempts at acting, a quick google-wiki can show you just how experienced they are. Its sad what my favourite show has become, I used to look forward to the end of the week to watch dw, thanks for ruining that for me!
Russell T Davies was much better than Moffat, in my opinion. Sure, the cliffhangers and drama have been intensified but the stories are getting too complex for young audiences to understand.
@mickeleh I know what you mean - I'm not that young either. well, I'm 15 and I usually understand things pretty well, but all the kids I know who watch DW don't have a clue what is going on! I think the writers are complicating things too much :/
Shame the BBC have still not announced when they are showing the new torchwood over here in the UK. If we have to wait for it, i can guarantee no-one will bother waiting and will download the episodes as they appear in the states. its a travesty that a BBC show of the caliber of Torchwood has to be made in America by another TV company yet the beeb still prioritise tripe like Eastenders
Why are people asking him to come back to Doctor Who? Yes, he was an excellent writter, and no-one can doubt that. But Moffat's here. He's taken over. It's his time now. Just be thankful that RTD is carrying on with Torchwood.
if doctor who or torchwood weren't ur best work, god knows what that would be like!! I saw torchwood being filmed in swansea too :D he is so much taller than I expected :P
@smailsnail I like Moffat's stuff don't get me wrong. I just hate that it will be cut short next season, but I am optimistic that the 50th anniversary will be huge. Some say it is being cut short because he is trying to run Sherlock and Doctor Who. I'm just going to wait and see what happens.
@friendsmakingvideos1 I was half way joking. I just don't want the season to be cut down. I know it is all in the hands of the BBC. Also, the new Torchwood will be awesome.
@Igamer124 it WILL get cut short. moffat has these ideas in his head that other writers could endanger and/or completely screw up, to be blunt. no, i think davies will be fine.
@Igamer124 Yeah becuse RTD never cut the show down did he? 2009?. 4 WHO Episodes in 1 year WTF?. If anything RTD is the 1 who started this whole cut down of the show. RTD was a great writer but his time is done. New era. Move on and enjoy what we have with the wonderfull Smith/Moffat [well thats my view anyway] thanks 4 reading
@TimelordTVRevolution I watched almost all the RTD era stuff online. I didn't pick up on Doctor Who until late and wasn't caught up until near David's finale season. I didn't know anything about him cutting it/ However I do know they ended up being full seasons.
@Igamer124 wrong. 2009 was 4 Specials spred across the year. At the end of the day long as WHO is made I dont care if its a full season or not. But thats just me. thanks 4 the reply
@TimelordTVRevolution Yea, that is right. I believe it had something to do with needing to find someone for the 11th Doctor although why they couldn't do it and have a full season is beyond me. Maybe this will be a re occurrence every so often, to cut the season. I don't know, but I hate not having a full season.
@Igamer124 It hasn't been cut short, they just decided to air it in two parts this year so that people couldn't miss an episode and catch up within 5 minutes, they wanted every episode to be unmissable and viewing figures to remain consistently high. It'll be back on at the end of August/beginning of September.
Aaaaaaactually. It is getting cut short. Next year's season/series is only going to last about 7 episodes.
I for one consider Moffat to be leagues above Davies (which he is) but I can't say I didn't enjoy -some- of Davies episodes. Midnight was a very clever one. So having Davies back to fill some space next season might be nice. So long as he realises that Dr. Who isn't about trumping a massive enemy and coming up with Deus ex Machina. It's wibbely-wobbely-timey-wimey.
@Bushflare :O Noooooo. That sucks. Saying that if they did something like what they did with Torchwood's children of earth that could be interesting. Either way I'm annoyed but agreed about it being wibbley-wobbely-timey-wimey hehe, much better and much harder to work out because anything can happen where as if its the Doctor vs a big monster it'll either be the Daleks or the Cybermen.
No. Russel T. Davies overexposed the Daleks. And about the shortened season. It's shortened because they're putting most of the work into the 50th anniversary which will be a feature length movie. So I think bringing davies back for a few episodes would be nice. Or maybe some other writers who can write better than him *quite a few*.
And it's not the size of the enemy. It's the ingenuity of the plan used to beat them. Look at the Silence. That was a total fangasm moment xD
I wouldn't say it's being cut short. It's spread over 2012 and 2013 because of the 50th anniversary, it seems.
Plus I don't think it will be much different from when Davies did the specials at the end of Tennant's run rather than a proper series.
Also we've got the other half of series 6 to look forward to, and probably a christmas special at the end of this year as well. So it won't actually seem too long.
Im dying for Miracle Day it looks just as good as CoE, although Im really hoping the remaining original cast members aren't killed off I doubt I take one more!
Russell T Davies is amazing in every sense of the word, good luck with further writing projects.
