Did we read the same book? "Very little clutter"? How about the jarringly frustratingly guide entries plopped right into the middle of the narrative?
Eoin did his best, no doubt, and he did get the characters right, that's true. But the biggest appeal to the books was not the characters but Adams' wordsmithing, which was something Eoin was not capable of, and perhaps no one ever will be.
Worth a read if you're a fan, but check it out from the library.
