I think the old "line" that both Dodge and Chrysler used was nicer!...that actually disappoints me because I wanted to change my 3rd Chrysler with a new one, but I find the new one too ugly!
I really like it I have replaced the rotors but that's it I love my van I had a 03 Venture LT a while back and I like my Town and country more I would buy it thats a great price.
I was quite surprised with the SXT.Massive improvement over the old model. The interior quality seems pretty good. Maybe a touch less than the Honda, but nothing major. Brakes are responsive feel good modulation. Seats are comfortable, but stow n go seats are shorter than normal to fold. Still seem comfortable but they aren't as good as a full seat. Considering price the Dodge is excellent value. Warranty is good, and we have 12month walk away for free.
Just bought an SXT with the 3.8 6 spd tranny, 1 screen DVD MyGig, no power doors.
The 3.8 sounds like that but only under load. She was pushing it for sure. At 75mph the rpm is ~2300. You dont hear the engine any more than the Honda.Ride is well controlled and not floaty. Rolls a touch and the front pushes a bit under hard cornering.Could be tires.3.8L is a good match for the van.197HP/230TQ is similar on TQ to imports.Dont need power doors, doors are very easy to open/close.Worth a look.
I recently rented a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. overall it was a decent van but it had its flaws. The 3.3 liter v-6 is extremely underpowered (since I rented it I had to get the base model) and the interior was plagued with numerous sqeaks and rattles which shouldn't happen on a car with only 11,000 miles. On the up side the van drove and rode nicely and has endless storage pockets. But based on my experience with the Caravan I would look elsewhere,I expected more from Dodge.
ive been in 2 2008 grand caravan base models with the 3.3L. i also think its under powered enspecially when its full of people. it doesnt have a tachometer. that 3.3L has been carried over for a long time in caravan history. My moms old 1998 Grand caravan had the same engine but it wasnt under-powered guess all of the xtra weight caused it.
The doors would open and close on their own. The automatic feature made them difficult to keep closed. They would close and then open back up just as I was walking away. One time they opened up while I was in the building and someone in the parking lot told me. The keys were just sitting on the table so I know the button wasn't pushed.
It's the best minivan!!!! The best quality for the best price!

The people who brought me the van told me that it was a known issue. It was not a user error.

For those of you who are asking - Nope. I did not and will not be buying this vehicle.
If they fix the issue with the doors, then I'd absolutely consider it though!
