if i install ubuntu, does it give me all these effects or must i download other stuff? I use the computer just for surfing the net but i want my OS to have good eye candy, and this has plenty. oh, i also so saw an effect where the user is able to draw w/ his mouse fire writing? are you able to do that w/ this?? great video by the way:)
It is Ubuntu 7.10 with Advanced Desktop Effects installed, running in a Core2duo 2.4ghz @ 3.1ghz, 2Gb ram 999, nVivia 8600gt.
The zoom you can see is not an editing effect, it is a desktop effect.
You can see a low fps rate, cause the program i used to record my desktop make the work at full screen resolution, i wanna mean the original video is saved at real time at 1280x1024 resolution.
I don't get the translucent cube effect either. I'm guessing it's a matter of having the right plug-in. I don't think I'm using Emerald. Maybe that's the problem?
this is only for ubuntu rigth?

no, compiz fusion comes installed on 7.10
u need to download the emerald and compiz managers to make use of them, though

Really, in a Desktop install of 7.10, you only have to install "Avanced desktop settings" from "Programs/Add-Remove"
