Holy shit, and you call this Pestilence? Some chug-chugga-chugga crap? I'm out, going to listen "Malleus Maleficarum" again. Sorry, but this comeback is a misunderstanding, just like new Morbid Angel.
@TheCrawlingbackwards thats what you call a "death metal breakdown," buddy. we're not talking about some shitty, boring, one-note deathcore breakdown. this is a crushing tidal wave of riffs.
Good grief this is really good! Initially I wasen't into this album but after having heard enough times, some great stuff! Testimony...will prob always remain my fave though.
As a fan since consuming impulse I can say i defo love this new stuff!!! Of course they can never top testimony or spheres, but so what... Obituary never topped cause of death and Deicide never came close to the awesomeness of their first two records. Its great just to have Pestilence back in action!!
You say Pop-I scream Heavy Metal! and Death Metal!!
You say Hannah Montana-i fucking punch you in the face
92% of teenagers have moved to listening to hip hop, if you are part of the 8% who still love heavy metal, copy and paste this to another video and let Heavy Metal live on!!
Or maybe it's a new album and it's not a prequal or sequal; it is pestillence though and maybe thats why it sounds like pestillence should the fuckin band sound totally different and for what reason would they have for totally changing their formula?pestillence kicks ass!!!!!!!
Their new album is more like a direct sequel to "Consuming Impulse" than a follow up to "Spheres". It is still Pestilence, but in their much rawer, death metal form.
Damn, you're right! After listening to Morbid's shit. You're fucking correct! Not that it makes Pestilence bad. It just makes it un-original. Hey, Pestilence (DO SOMETHING ORIGINAL)!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@nekrokokoceo Yeah, it's rhythmically a little different, but I can totally hear the similarities. If you're going to take a riff it's the best source. John Williams took most of Star Wars from Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring' and Holst 'Planets'. I still love the new Pestilence album! I saw them in Seattle a couple of months ago. They were great!
@nekrokokoceo So what if it is? They changed it enough for it to be their own. Static X's Nightmare stole the intro to Wasted Years by Iron Maiden. Bands steal riffs all the time. People need to realise this.
Exactly riff vocal mannerism and even sung in the first 30 seconds it just track Morbid Angel - Day of Suffering was recorded on the album Blessed Are the Sick
Although I fucken love their older stuff more, this isn't bad at all and you can still listen to it and recognize the Pestilence sound. Really heavy. Good to have them again.
@Archaik000 agree totally, i don't get what everyone's big deal is about this album, throughout their career they have always pushed boundary's and tried new things.
great band !!! Resurrection Macabre !!!!!!!

I actually really like the vocals. They seem more "developed" beyond the old shrieks and grunts, definitely more guttural than before.

Not all metal has to have long blastbeats and doublebass to be heavy, I think this song proves it. It just needs to have a good flow!
