As a fan since consuming impulse I can say i defo love this new stuff!!! Of course they can never top testimony or spheres, but so what... Obituary never topped cause of death and Deicide never came close to the awesomeness of their first two records. Its great just to have Pestilence back in action!!

Their new album is more like a direct sequel to "Consuming Impulse" than a follow up to "Spheres". It is still Pestilence, but in their much rawer, death metal form.

@nekrokokoceo Yeah, it's rhythmically a little different, but I can totally hear the similarities. If you're going to take a riff it's the best source. John Williams took most of Star Wars from Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring' and Holst 'Planets'. I still love the new Pestilence album! I saw them in Seattle a couple of months ago. They were great!
