@Panditha666 it shouldn't, damar varnish is actually meant to be used with oil paints as a protective layer and to bring out the colors once they have dried. It's an oil itself that is different than a fixative but works similar to one. Yellowing shouldn't occur over time unless it's been applied too thickly. I try to just spray one very thin layer over the charcoal.
@Panditha666 I'm glad you brought this up though because I should mention that I use a RETOUCH damar varnish, which can be painted over with oils, while a regular damar varnish should only be used on a finished oil painting.
