  • I'm always gonna think of this musical when I'm looking at the martian fighting machine in Woking from now on.

  • The Geezer looks more like Shane out of Eastenders than Richard Burton.

  • whats with the giant floating head :p

  • @jasonj2008

represens the narrator from the novel and humanity itself i think :S

  • @sammyfilly Narrator and The Journalist (who's name is George in this story)

The man who sings "Thunderchild" on the 5th part is the voice of Humanity

Justin Hayward is the sung thoughts of the Journalist.

  • The Martian kinda looks like Audrey II! xD

...but for an alien invasion musical, I'd take Little Shop of Horrors over this any day.

  • from 5:20 on he's cool

    she's hot on d harp 2

  • I totally have a crush on the harp\percussion chic. I want to father her love children,, lol

  • that is an amazing bassline!

  • This is on my list of books to read, and list of vinyls to buy!

  • horsell common and the heat ray is one of my most favorite parts of the CD. :)

  • Spielberg butchered this story...

  • @kamikazecrab The original movie and the sci-fi channel versions are good in my opinion. You can pick if you like one better.

  • I need to find a copy of the book and buy it. I mean the original book, not some version of Spielberg's shit of a movie.

  • ;p this is all rather funny

    ..

    and marginally horrifying

  • @shadehunter

    ...thanx

    ...tom

  • this music scared me when i was a little girl

  • you mean that creep bassline that comes in. yea it did me too and still does XD

  • COOKIE 5*

  • The martians didn't have teeths. You are right about that. But doesn't beaks count as teeths? And even if they didn't have teeth, they didn't need them. They are not chewing their food. They are pumping in blood into their veins. So i find that point kinda pointless. Though you deserves a cookie because of your awareness.

  • I remember hearing this for the first time Christmas Eve 1978....Wonderful Memories

  • ERROR: in the book the journalist says that the martians have no teeth.

  • yya there are lots of errors but this version follows the book the closest then any of the movies. i love the book, i have the original unabriged version and i have read it like 13 times.

  • D`OH!

ive read the book 7 times!

  • it's an amazing story :)

  • hmmn, yes very accurate to the story in the book!

  • Wow. 1st heard this in 1978 on a tape recorded by a friend. Lost tape and waited over 20 years to hear it again when I had the 2 cds sent from England. Listened to those tonight on a long drive home from LA. Again wow. This is so faithfull after just hearing the original. Love it, brilliant.

  • War of the Worlds is the best!

  • I had the volume on 100, that's how good it is! 12000000000000 out of 5!!!!!

  • video and musical kicks ass, need I say more?

  • The fact that they were able to reproduce so many of those guitar effects especially, so accurately, just goes to show that everything that was done on the original album was no fluke.

  • the heat ray goes with the music each time tha music turns on the heat ray turns on

  • It's like a long trippy music video.

  • martians theme super

  • i went to see this like last month and its the best thing iv ever seen i love it, its my fav film ever, i begged my dad to take me and he did i was like buzzz!! :D

  • Ulua Great music i have this on dvd

  • This one of the most classic music ever in histroy.

  • Oh, man. I know it's utterly silly, yet I still can't stop watching.

  • this music is a classic

  • It would have been better without that annoying floating head.

  • Yes, that thing is really annoying.

  • WTF R U GUYZ SAYIN?

    dats richard burtons head!

  • They replaced for the third tour in 2009 with a projected 'hologram' which worked better and wasn't as distracting.Best live show i ever saw (twice)!!

  • Incredible. Never thought that this have been played live. Awesome! Ahhhh the 70's!...
