i really wish i had money so i didnt have to put up with shitty equipment every time i play a gig. i mean i dont wana be some big headed arsehole but this guy is a good player, but i know that im better and it really anoys me that the only thing holding me back from truely expressing myself and really getting in to my music is something as material as money! which is not what music is about! x
@bassmanpatz how do you know you are better than him ? have you seen him play in a live band ?
you see a 3 minute clip of him just playing around... i wouldnt jump to conclussions from a tiny example of what he can or can not play. life isnt all about being better than someone.
@bassmanpatz i play gigs with a $100 ibanez and a circa 1980's 15 inch PA speaker i got from craigslist and it doesnt make a difference. sure, my markbass stack and warwick sound alot better, but at the end of the day you are either good or not. don't blame your gear.
@TechSmack I think he says 'ON like the jazz bass'... but I had to listen to it a few times... would love a real review of this bass, as I'm debating whether to get one of these or a 1950's P bass
I stopped listening when he said he looks to Mark Hoppus. I can handle Sting but not that hack. And that bass does not have Seymour Duncans. C'mon, know your product if your going to represent Fender and Best Buy and review their gear online.
@Willificationify I guess he can sing and play, and he's been playing for a while and he's influenced by great bassists like Tony Lombardo from the Descendents and Mike Dirnt. But yeah, he's definitely not a bass hero.
@IGORzMUSIC @ least the guy selling is a bassist, I mean, The Perfect bass, for instance, it's quite a funny case... all the guys I see in youtube showcasing basses are clearly guitarists or something
Not that I'm supporting best buy or anything, I couldn't care less xD
which seymour duncan pickups does this bass have? as far as im aware from the website theyre not duncans but fenders american standards? if anyone knows id appreciate it thanks XD
It's does not have a SD pick up, it has a stock Fender Am Std Pick Up. This review and dude annoys me, cos of the inaccurate stuff that he said about the bass.
Hi guys. I am looking for a bass to start out on. I am an electric guitarist so Im not an amateur in music and I know exactly what bass is supposed to do but can anyone recommend something? Budget ---500 -700$ Or less if its good enough.
0:33 what the hell is he talking about? "the strings, they go through, unlike the jazz bass" umm BOTH the American Standard precision & jazz basses have string-thru bodies
Yeah wouldn't class Sting as 'Classic/hard rock' more like pop/rock. At least he could play but bullshitted along the way.

I'm pretty sure not all country music basslines consist purely of roots and fifths.

Sounds like he's playing through an 8" speaker cab, no way that Ampeg combo/ P-Bass should be that whimpy sounding.

@Pbassman74 Hoppus is actually a fairly skilled bassist, he just chooses to play simple songs :p
But yeah, I wouldnt exactly describe him as a role model.

CONS: Best Buy has no idea what they are selling
