I've read the actual "official report" on the whole screw up that this operation was. It was written by an airforce captain i think. The reason this particular operation went wrong was because the same snatch and grab operation had already been run in mogadishu like 4 times. On this op the somalis were organized and ready to fight the rangers. It was like running the same football play on all four downs. Eventually they caught on. BTW to all out there the decision not to us AC-130s was not D.C's

At the first crashsite most people died on impact the pilots had to be pried from the aircraft. They attached APCs and Humvees to literaly tear the heli apart.

@TheCoastGuarder the black hawk helicopter is designed so that if a crash occurs, the seats drop right on impact so the pilot gets seriously injured but still lives. infact, nobody died from the crash in durants helicopter, they all died from the somalis overrunning them.
