In the most literal sense it's about getting a puppy for your birthday/Xmas and your parents have hidden it somewhere in the house and are making you search for it. Treasure hunt, if you will. In a less literal sense it's about yearning, loss and wanting something so badly that you'll sing in falsetto and write an electro- pop song about it. :)
