You can also use varying moves. If you just hit with the bat consecutively, it will make it weaker do to stale moves, I think.

It is true that it takes more skill without items, but there is at least some skill to items. If I;m just randomly swinging a bat, someone is going to own me while I'm pulling back for the swing. But if I time it to just the right moment, you're through.

Items are a part of the game and are meant to be used. Sonic's final smash is the only thing in the game that is impossible to dodge. Everything else can be avoided. And used.

Yes, But Lets Say If They Where On, Healing Items Can Go Against You.When You Are Fighting 1 on 1 And Items Are On, You Can Really Get Mad Because One Abusing it keeps getting smssh ball you just keep losing because of that.Also A Healing item comes right when your close to death and also your oppenent it sucks when iether of you take it.

i don't see how items don't represent skill, imagine in real life, a war, both armies have an ARSENAL so, if your bombed, the other army can just be like 'damn you got lucky'?? apply the idea to the game, you USE the itmes to your advantage, items can represent just as much skill as any melee. inj my opinion, anyway, you seem very video game educated, i think i'll ad you ^^.

Dodging Someone multiple times and finding a point to strike then finishing that is skill.

Item battles are fun, and have some skill

But when it's no items 1 on 1 What wins?
