My wife and are are about to get started on P90X when we FINALLY get our kitchen finished after this 19month remodel (a LOT of eating out). I like what you said about using up the clock how ever you have to (girl pushups).
When we get started I'll take that tip with me to the mat.
Thanks man, liked your video for you. Me and my brother just started this up, to begin with we are just cutting out junk food and trying to eat low fat foods with additional protein and eventually when we can afford it make our diet better. Good to know about the pull up bars, we need them and have started to just do with it in week one.
Tbh Yoga was the hardest for me, I'll be honest, week one i didn't stick it. Any tips on that?
@profitfever Everything gets better just stay consistent. If you put in work results will come. Seriously though, the diet is going to make your results show. Abs are made in the kitchen. I'm still learning whether we really need a high protein diet but definitely try to avoid the fat.
great tips, but by far the best thing you said was dont be prideful. how many times were you able to knock out 30 pushups in the first round, but by the end you could barely do one.. same thing with the pull up bar. use the chair if you have to towards the end
I feel you Brody I've traveled the country and yes New Orleans has some good food and you right between NYC and NO food is great!!! I'm out in California now miss the southern and east coast cookin!!!! And I just started P90x how long before you see some results i know everyones body is different but just a question Brody?
@1977Brehon I wasn't really on supplements and i didn't follow the beachbody diet plan to the t but I think about day 30 you start really seeing a noticeable difference. From 30 to 60 it starts to kick up a notch also. For most people your not going to see the television 90 day transformation they advertise but it is possible if you are really strict on diet and stay consistent. Good luck man! Might be good your not on the east coast so that food won't tempt ya.
@MotivationToGive umm im 15 years old in high school sophmore year, and i was wondering if this would work for me. Im really skinny and have a fast metabolism, also i really wannt to do this so i could get better at basketball
@puffdaddyasd Will it work for you!? Yes, but with your fast metabolism you will have to eat a lot in order to gain weight. Not really sure how much you weigh or how tall you are but I would really just let the weight come on its own. P90x, and Insanity will greatly help you with your conditioning. Air Alert will help you with your hops. Practice on your ball handling skills! Try to become proficient with both hands, and your j. Those are the things that will help you stand apart. Good luck
@MotivationToGive ok so i'm 6 ft pretty tall and really skinny. so u saying that fiirst i should try an get big, or in shape, then later work on my hops for b ball
@1977Brehon lol, I have never been to New York so I don't know about that one but trust me I think New Orleans got it on lock. Something about those cities starting with New I guess. I'll get there one of these days though!
grrrrr, i just started the first vid today , chest and back, i did all the video with big reps , and by the end , i was dizzy and nauseous , and did like 2 excersises of the ab ripper x , and failed, i just couldnt go on, lol... just need to get some sleep tonight, and plyometrics tomorrow, :)
great video and advice man. I tend to do as many push ups as I can on the pushup days but I always end up watching the TV for 20-30 seconds while those guys are still workin. I will use your advice and try to shoot off some knee pushups and keep the train rollin. Thanks!
@MotivationToGive when you say eat more, do you mean sticking to the diet but in bigger portions? Or can I cheat a little bit and have some junk food. I'm 16 by the way.
@danrain12345 Man your 16! of course you can cheat! But I would try to keep it to a minimum. the more protein you eat the more muscle you'll pack on but if you eat bigger portions you'll probably just gain overall size. how big are you now?
@MotivationToGive damn son, you gonna be a monster! you playing sports? if so I would use p90x in the offseason for condition and your in season sport should be specific enough to get you the body you are trying to achieve!
& My roommate won't let me put stuff for pull ups in the house. (he's awful! ) i was wonderin if I could do pull up exercises on days I go with my friend to the gym & maybe use the bands during the video. This was a helpful video hope u respond :) thnks for ur time! I look forward to starting this program!
@ceLiNAwina Sup! The bands will definitely work but like I said the pull ups are hands down the best!
If you do them at the gym I don't see a reason why that wouldn't work out for you though. Just make sure you are still giving your bodyparts adequate rest so that you don't start overtraining. Let me know how it goes! Will you be making videos?
@MotivationToGive alright thank you :) yeah i just finnished day 4 and i am already seeing changes! it's awesome! i used the bands though. no i'm not gonna make vieods though. i'm just doing this for my cousins wedding. it's really fun though!!
Hi! I actually got my copy of P90x on a flash drive. Including some paper (calendar, things of the like) NO equipment, no nutrition guide. I was wonderin what are some must have equipment? I have 5 pound weights & 10pound weights & one lame band. Im 4'11" 18y/o girl & out of shape. will I get used to the 10 pound ones fast?
@jjacosta927 Hmm, if your arm is healed then you shouldn't have any problems. Just make sure you are working with weights that are comfortable in the beginning until you feel like you can handle more. Try to eat a healthy balanced diet. Otherwise, be consistent and try to do all of your workouts and you'll see the results you have been desiring!!!
An hour and a half a day isnt really that bad at all. The diet and keeping it on track is going to be the hardest for me I think but Im ready to go and ready to get in shape! haha
Im about to start the P90x workout and Im hoping I can finish the whole program but part of me doubts it. How many hours a day does it take to finish the workouts and is it hard keeping up with the diet and everything else?
@lhefner31 Hi, 1st you have to change your attitude and believe that you can finish the program. On monday, wednesday and friday your workout is about 50 minutes + the additional 15 minutes of ab ripper x. You don't have to do ab ripper exactly after the main program but it is probably best you knock it out right after your workout. On tuesdays and thursdays your going to do a cardio type of workout which is about 45 minutes total. So at most its going to take up about 1.5 hours a day.
@lhefner31 Diet well, that depends on you. I didn't follow the diet program to the tee but the diet will yield the greatest results. The secret is to get rid of the junk food, and plan your menu in advance. Stock up on healthy snacks and good protein that way you won't be forced to grab fastfood or chips when your hungry. The diet focuses on you eating almost 6 times a day so you won't really be hungry. Once you start seeing the progress you will be inspired to stick with it. Keep me posted!
Awesome video man, I am about to start the Power 90 workout and then do the P90X afterwards. This video was very helpful and motivating for me. It was also good to hear someone say that dropping to your knees was ok for pushups. A lot of people have too much pride and think they are too good for alternative workouts. Just stay humble and do what it takes to get it done. Thanks for the video man!
@DKnott86 Glad you liked the video man, Its about time for me to start making some more. But yes, pushups on your knees can be just as challenging and effective especially when your getting poop'd. I'm sure your results will be great just make sure to try to eat clean and stay consistent with doing the workouts.
@MotivationToGive I'm confident that I can stay true to the workouts every day and go hard, the only thing that worries me is the clean eating. I have terrible habits and love to go out to eat lol, and I can't stand vegetables either. But I know I have to change to get results ya know? Hey let me ask you, what is your opinion on Shakeology, have you tried it and is it worth the money? The reviews look good on it, but another opinion is always nice. Thanks again man.
hey man, nice vid. i started p90x about 3 days ago and i'm confused on what to eat for my diet. i'v been trying to follow the nutrition guide but i have no idea if i'm doing right it or not. i'm 16 and weigh 150 so i should be taking in around 2400 calories a day right? and would i still get awesome results if i didn't follow the guide but just ate healthy?
@chilldyl11 Thanks! I didn't stick to the diet plan 100% and got good results. As your still young your metabolism should be pretty rapid so I would advise just eating as healthy as you can, avoiding soft drinks, and junk food. As long as your doing the workouts your going to get stronger but the diet really makes your abs show!
@DeadlyNinja1702 lol, I feel ya man. I like pizza and junk food as much as anybody else. Try to do everything in moderation though and you'll still see results. Best results just come if your strict on diet. Stay with it though. Good luck.

If you start getting alot of nagging injuries or never feel like your body is recovered then you know you are overtraining. As far as the weight gain is concerned, I would get on a good Whey Protein. Between that and eating alot, you should gain some good weight. Most sources recommend eating about 6 times per day so if you can make sure your eating lean meats, that should translate into good muscle gain.
Creatine will also make you look inflated, but your muscles will be carrying more mass from water retention. Once you get off the creatine you will deflate a bit...
Hope this helps
