Shame, really. I bought a 3DS so I could get Mega Man Legends 3. Universe just struck me as, "Let's rerelease Mega Man 2 since it did so good. Also, let us add custom levels like they have in Smash Bros. Brawl and have them be able to create their own characters." I would not have been able to play Universe anyway because the Wii does not seem to get much good third party stuff besides Mega Man 9-10, as well as port of Okami...

And I won't even touch X7 for the sole reason that X isn't even a playable character to begin with. Why in the world would you make a game called "MEGAMAN X", and not have MEGAMAN X as a playable character from the get-go? That's like if you couldn't use Mario at the beginning of a Mario game, or if you couldn't use Link, Samus, Dante, etc. in their respective series! What idiot greenlit that idea, huh?

Also, one more detail I left out: The inclusion of "Axl" was COMPLETELY unnecessary. Why the hell didn't they just make X and Zero playable characters and leave the damn third wheel out of it? The fans loved the series for the dynamic duo, not some annoying third wheel they just decided to add as a "replacement" for X not being a playable character at first. It just completely pisses me off that they even added him in the first place.

Yeah, I wasn't too upset about Zero in X6...at least...what I've been able to play of it, primarily because he wasn't playable in the original games. But a series that is built on the backbone of Megaman, and doesn't have Megaman as a playable character is the worst flaw in any game I've ever seen. I'd rather have just Megaman than a whole slew of other characters...and don't even get me started with Axl. He's just annoying, like Jar Jar Binks annoying.

Uh, X IS playable in X7. While I agree that X7 is by far the worst in the series, it wasn't because X wasn't playable at the start of the game.

Axl was added for the sole reason to try and breathe life into a dying series. Again, I wouldn't say this is the reason X7 sucked, but it certainly contributed to it.

@StaroceanZero I have to disagree, X-6 had to be the worst. Sure the music was great, but the level design was terrible! X-7 was only slightly better, except for the 3-d bit which were just horrible. By the time X-8 came out there was nothing left of the reputation for this series, and not very many people got to enjoy it because of that.

I recently finally got to play X5 and X6. I really enjoyed X5, and X6......the scripting is TERRIBLE, the cutscenes are TERRIBLE, the difficulty is ungodly and cheap "AKA red donuts of death in Blaze Heatnix' level" and the music is sub-par...but I still enjoy it because it's Megaman X. By the way, Zero is usable in X6 as well.

Whenever I try to play it I can't get through a single level. Its difficulty is horrendous, but I'm still trying to beat it. I can beat any of the old Megamans, including 7, Megaman X1,2,3,4,7, and 8, but I simply cannot even begin to get through X6. Geez...it's not even enjoyable, it's just disgusting.

Trust me, I know how that is. I hate X6 for that, the lack of zero play, and perhaps most importantly for my previously listed reason.

As for X7, there are a lot of things I hated about that game. Frankly I think X7 was hard as hell as well, especially without X. I never really minded not being able to play as him though since well I'm more of a Zero fan myself lol

The easiest way of beating lumine when he says "paradise lost" and then your low on time and must kill him quick, you use zero and the Sigma blade , or that big hammer i forgot it's name, cause both crush lumine's guard (which at that point he always guards himself , so you need to use guard break attacks
