Hello, It is nice simulation. But I think Your boat not floating. You position and animated by your self. isn't it?
I am trying to make simulation in Blender specific boat run by propeller rotation and right left rotation by rudder. Only animated thing is Propeller and Rudder. Do you think that water will interact with propeller and move the boat forward and when I rotate the rudder will it rotate the boat ? If you know, please help me out how could be done.
Well, I think that the system is not entirely perfect and in order to create the emitted particles (Representing breaking waves), the water must be turbulent enough.
The boat is just a prop... plopping a model of an engine o the back of that thing would not affect the simulation technology at all.
I do not believe there are emitted particles here (not sure though). I do know that the tech they're showcasing here has to do with overcoming some limitations of using a heightfield (ie, water cannot fold back upon itself) by combining in traditional eulerian grid techniques. So it's similar to octree-grid refinement but in one dimension.
30 million particles and 100 dollars worth of electricity later...

Awfully turbulent wake for a little unpowered dinghy. Maybe I'm assuming too much?
