4:00 Absolutely preposterous. The world is far more educated than it was decades ago. The audience has simply increased, and thus diversified (as well as to include the less educated perhaps), making it more difficult for everyone to grasp jokes about your particular culture.
@anthonzi I agree with this, actually. I think there is a tendency for people to take a very negative view of their younger fellows, especially in the society we currently live in. But I think in large part, this is just a misunderstanding. Surely, I've seen plenty of dummies around my age who don't care enough about the world around them to truly educate themselves, but that is only a very small part of the young culture. The internet can educate as well as entertain. Most smart people know it.
John Cleese is awsome :) and monty phytons the holy grail is one of my favourite movies of all time :) i luv the part with the evil rabbit gaurding the cave and they through the holyy hand grenade at it haha :)
i didnt know John Cleese did video game and animation voices :O wat did he do the voices for?
And by the way, I can hear somebody's nose whistling throughout the whole video. It made me giggle, though forcing me to watch this multiple times as well. I guess that's not a bad thing.
i thought this would be fun, and it was, but what really stood out were the thoughtful comments about the internet and humor! right on the nose, it is.
One of my heroes and a big influence on my writing and videos! I love Peter Cook and Harold Lloyd--I'm very familiar with the influences Cleese mentioned, which I guess dates the hell out of me---nice interview and setting. Great way to start the day. And this is why the internet is so cool.
Five stars for John Cleese indeed. I was actually envious enough when I heard this was happening, I put my Flying Circus dvds on and had a Monty Python night.
he's so right about the internet being like gossip, just love him too cool. didn't really like borat either.. just humour for the basest of human kind, too easy.
