That was pretty cool! ((at the risk of sounding ignorant))Is that all middle-eastern influenced? I've noticed a lot of those type of figures in Latin music (one of the patterns was like the cuban "guaguanco"). Any rhythm gurus out there?

Umm, no, it's Punjabi, North Indian culture/language. From the state of Punjab, India. LoL, its got a long history. I play it, taking lessons in Cal.
