saw them opening for Iron Maiden in the UK in 1982 - blew the roof off the place. People standing on their seats trying to see the stage, saying 'who the f*ck are they!'. Most energetic band I've probably ever seen. This is the best track on the album. That's Ronnie Dio's cousin, Dave Fienstein, on vocals and guitar. He was in Elf with Ronnie at some point in the early 70s
I was at that show! I had forgotten the Rods opened. At the Landmark, I think. I saw them a few months earlier at a bar in Cortland. I wasn't old enough to get in...I promised the bartender I wouldn't drink! The Rods were so loud that a lot of the older folks had to leave, they couldn't take it!
This is exactly what I understand when I think of good, nice metal (speed metal?)!Definitely one of my favourite songs, fast as a shark and strong as a bull!Nice riffs, beautiful voice (love his voice!),just perfect!
The Rods are fantastic Upstate New York Power Rock n Roll at its best. Check out the Hollywood Bar and Grill when you visit Cortland, New York. Go Carl, Rock and Gary. A Carthage, New York Rods Fan!!!
When I get back to visit my hometown (Syracuse), I'll have to head south on 81 and have a trip down metal memory lane! Just listening to this really brought me back! Thanks man!
Opened for Ozzy in Syracuse, NY in 80-81? Damn good band from Cortland, NY.

I would regard influences of The Rods (at least what I can hear) as...Krokus, Foghat, Saxon, Rainbow... yet with their own unique flavoring.
