  • Omg what's the name of that song. It brings back good memories.

  • @SODMGIBO boderation by bunny wailer

  • What is the song you have in this video? It's awesome!

  • @linzierae its an old Bunny Wailer 12" from my record collection......called Boderation

  • How much floor space U got in there mate??? My garage has close to 500 sq. ft.

I gotta try to set it up where i got enough 4 welding & machining...especially when

    start working on bikes...

  • Does the BP power feed give much bother?

  • its had its moments!!!! the commutator needed cleaning and it has a biasing spring on the driving dogs when you drop it into gear wich was week causing it to skip but after a bit of a service its been ok.....luckily when i bought the machine there was another drive laying on the top of a skip outside ......needless to say it migrated into my boot when i left!! they are a famously week link though.

  • Would you reckon it be better to buy an after market one then or fix the BP one? I'd like to salvage mine but not if an aftermarkey one is better to start with!

  • difficult decision that!!! the new one is gonna be better for a while i expect but with all these things nowadays i doubt if it will last as long as the BP original fitment! just think how many hours the machine has worked and the drive is still ok with a bit of a service.......you can bet the replacement chinese piece of crap will be throw away when it goes wrong......let me know what you do ,i'd be interested to know what the new ones are like......Jand L MSC are selling them at the moment.

  • I see J&L selling them. When yours is working is it real smooth at slow feeds? Mine jitters if you screw it down and the other one doesn't work at all. You still keeping busy there?

  • mine is much better foe dismantling it and cleaning the commutator ,if your gib strips are tight at either end of a worn slide this may cause agro on slow speeds too,my one also had an issue with the resistor wich was rectified with a doner one, just landed a nice load of proper clean machining work and keeping busy with head skims and all the other local garage shit, broken studs, thread recovery etc....what do you do?

  • Its not letting me leave a web address I think.

  • Yeah, its not. Type cooke bros engineering into google.

  • Thanks for the interest but my bantam will never be sold ....it's too useful! this one in particular is in such good condition and has so much stuff with it ,I have all change gears ,a set of collets and chuck etc. You would not believe just how much stuff I have made on this machine, the only problem so far has been the start switch which was replaced with a Moeller modern equivalent in it's own enclosure with a toggle switch. 3 owners from new and I know them all !!!

  • it's a 1968 machine with the joystick screw cutting gearbox

  • Have you noticed, at least on my machine, that Bridgeports (guessing circa late seventies) have wired up the poentiometer control the wrong way for autofeeds, ie all the pot travel is where its not needed. This must be as standard because the decal is printed to match.

I like the Bantam, the older green painted ones were better quality, if you ever selll would be interested. Good vid!
